This is a drive along Old Cherry Mountain Road in the White Mountain National Forest, accessed from Rt 302 in Jefferson, NH and exiting on Rt 115. I show all 9 of the campsites. The video cuts out after the ninth site but the National forest ends soon after.

Thank you for giving us a tour of this place! I will say that the green mountain national forest could learn a thing or two by looking at this. My daughter and I stayed at “campground about 2 and a half years ago in November and it was regular pay campground. You got a picnic table, outhouse and fire ring at each site. When we got there, there was trash everywhere, a fire still going a big black trash bag that had been ripped open by a large hairy animal 😬, beer cans everywhere and dog shit everywhere! The picnic tables had been axed apart for firewood and basically it had been used as some kind of drunken experience for a bunch of folks. The white mtn national forest is definitely a lot smarter in how they manage the masses….. no picnic tables, no outhouses and no water! That’s a GREAT population controller in and of itself. The whole no table or outhouse is great! No water! That’s awesome! That will definitely weed some folks out you wouldn’t want to camp next too! I’m a recovering alcoholic and have been camping at blackberry crossing and another one similar in the whites and we were definitely the loud drunk group. I feel really bad about that but I go into these campgrounds knowing that’s a possibility. If I carcamp with my daughters, I only stay at Vermont state parks because they have more oversight. There’s a couple of parks that have too many sites for the staff and therefore things get a little nutty but for the most part they’re pretty awesome. And what a beautiful time to be out there!! October!! Thanks again!! NQU

I stayed at site 6 a year ago. What's cool is if you walk through the woods at 14:52, you can walk maybe a 100 yards or so and there is a composting toilet out in the woods!

Dude I love this. I had no idea the sites look like this. They are secluded but everything looks well maintained. The road leading to the sites also looks nice. It looks like you can drive an rv through there. Some of the sites looks like you can back an rv right in there and camp like a king. I think it was site 6 that was nice and large. Oh site seven looked large too. I enjoy videos like this. There are millions of us that love this. As you go on site 8 looks even bigger. I love the video bro 😎. Keep them coming. Thank you for sharing.

Some of the sites could definitely fit an RV. And it’s not a well know area. Two other places were full on a Saturday night but had a pick of a few sites here

I found that spot on a weekend and there was only one other person there. I enjoyed it at that location. Can’t remember one car driving by while I was at the site.

Nice job documenting the sites. Very helpful. We need to do all the free campsites in NH the same way.

Thank you. I thought this would be a boring video but it’s done better than I thought. I will start working on more when I travel

Any other areas you’d recommend in the area if this is full?

I also passed by Gale River Loop, the sites were not bad but everyone of them was taken. Also Haystack Rd but I could be mistaken so don’t quote me on it. It was a big place with a fee certain times of the year. It had outhouses and dumpsters but some of the sites were littered with broken glass and shot up buckets and whatnot.

On google maps you can search “old Cherry Mountain Road, NH” and it should come up. It connects to route 302. Also, nearby is sugarloaf campground, where you can reserve a site online. Cherry Mountain Road sites are first come first serve, but much more separated from each other.

@@johnkantarakias8794 YW. Forgot to mention that the cherry mountain sites are free. Sugarloaf is a small daily fee. www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/whitemountain/recreation/camping-cabins/recarea/?recid=74733&actid=29

What if car comes in opposite direction

I have driven there a few times in a Corolla . It is wide enough to pull over to the side in most cases. Now, two huge RVs in opposite direction may be another story.
