Exploring Platres and Troodos in the Cyprus Mountains

No cycling in this one but just a weekend of exploring the beautiful Platres and Troodos Areas of the island of Cyprus in September.
It also includes Mount Olympus.
Since 2017 the "Cyclepaths" have raised thousands of euros through our European cycling adventures by setting up fundraisers for the individual events. I (Lee), in particular support the Sirius Dog Sanctuary here in Limassol, Cyprus. Unfortunately there is a big animal neglect problem here and I support anyone who fights this ongoing battle.
We always pay 100% of the costs for these trips and every single cent raised always goes 100% to the charities.
AS BEAUTIFUL AS CYPRUS IS, THERE IS A SERIOUS ANIMAL NEGLECT PROBLEM HERE.
MANY PEOPLE, MAINLY VOLUNTEERS TRY TO HELP WITH VERY LITTLE HELP FROM THE GOVERNMENT.
EVERY SMALL BRICK CAN MAKE A PYRAMID.
RESPECT ANIMALS!

@@theeuropeancyclepaths8206 You're welcome. I retired 10 years ago and went back to Cyprus for a year. No Brainer. Rented my house for £950.00 pm and rented a 3-bed villa and massive pool in Anarita. The community charge was a 5th of England, and they emptied my bins twice a week. lol. Take care.

Beautiful mountains in Troodos . I can’t understand why people say Australia has no mountains which is far from the truth .Our highest mountain is only 2228m above sea level but Cyprus highest mountain is 1917 m above sea level and they still call it a mountain . It doesn’t make sense . Your video is lovely anyway !

You should do some more of this type, it gives a good insight into Cyprus. Moving over myself soon, can't wait.

Thanks for the guide. Can you please tell me, for a 1night first time visit to the mountains, would you recommend Omodos or Platres? We are starting off a few days in Paphos, then one night as we tour the mountains, before making our way to Limassol/Larnaca/Protaras.
