Welcome to Cyprus! A new chapter for AlexTravels. In this video, we are discussing our temporary move to Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, before doing what we do best and heading into the Troodos Mountains to hike to some of the most gorgeous waterfalls that you can find in Cyprus!

These waterfalls are located in the depths of the Troodos Mountains and are fairly accessible via a short hike, both beginning from the town of Platres.
We are living in Nicosia, the capital city of Cyprus and the only divided capital city in the world. Over the following year we will be exploring all over this gorgeous country to explore Cyprus' amazing beaches, colossal mountains, interesting cities and beautiful scenery! I hope you will enjoy Cyprus and the people treat you well . I went there back in 1992 but will never return . I have been to a lot of places . Trodos is beautiful and the history is amazing but the relatives were not nice to me and my husband . Most of them didn’t want to go anywhere with us and never wanted to socialise with us . They don’t really like us Aussie born Cypriots and they would tell me that Australia hasn’t got beaches like them . Well they better visit Western Australia with extremely clear , super blue waters and very white sands . They blow your mind away . So I hope your experience is much better than my experience . Best of luck !

Very exciting to be there for a bit. 😊 As you are in the area, you may enjoy seeing/be inspired by Monty Don's Adriatic Gardens, via BBC i-player; I think you'd really enjoy it as you love history; and although you are not in the specific region(s) he featured, you are still in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea. 😊

Lovely, normally Kaledonia falls has much more water, must have been a dry year.

Indeed! this was filmed back in September 2022, we visited Kaledonia falls a few times throughout our year in Cyprus and the other times it was much bigger!

What's the cost of living like now...things like house hold bills..

Well... I'd say things like transport, eating out and other expenses are relatively cheap, but things like grocery shopping and electricity have gone up (much like everywhere else I presume) but still less than in the UK
