Every photo in this house has been turned upside down and a Cryptic Message in a book might tell us why . . . . . . . . .

I'm so happy to see you posting again, I've missed you! I've watched other explorers, but yours are always unique, you take the time to really show us what is around, and not just superficially, either. The only thing I can think of regarding the upside down photos could be of relatives that the home owner was on the outs with. Perhaps she turned them like that rather than hide them away, but didn't want to be reminded of them, either. Either way, it's a sweet little eccentric touch to a nice little home. I hope we will be able to continue seeing you again more often from now on. Thank you for sharing!

Hi Merry, I’ve missed you guys too, it’s nice to be uploading again ( Even though I’ve just been locked down again because of Coronavirus 😡) I think you could be right about the upside down photos, it makes sense rather than turn the photo to the wall. I’ve never seen it done before and I didn’t know what to make of it. . . . . . . . Thanks for watching

Hey there, been looking forward to another explore, it was worth the wait. Regarding the upside down photos and paintings often people with dementia will do that. Kind of like the place with all the green bags on everything. Still working on the riddle, let you know if I figure it out. Great to have you back, your work is the best bar none. Really appreciate your empathy for the lives lived and the history you take the time to check out make it a blast! Stay safe, well & happy.

Hey I finally got around to uploading this one which I told you about a while back. I like your idea about the upside down photos, it does make sense that someone with dementia would do this as it would probably seem quite normal to them. I still can’t work out that riddle thing either, really had me thinking for ages. The Perfect Man page was hilarious, I couldn’t help laughing as I was reading it😅 Speak soon

Lovely to see your back. Just yesterday set bell on i pad (Trelise) now same here on phone. Will go back later to take another look at stone drawing. Upside down pics - can only think the Lady may have been sad at Christmas (or angry) may have felt forgotten and by look of house contents seems to be that way. No idea of the ski things. Anyway good to see you looking happy and healthy. Were bit concerned about the Covid biz. Susan NZ

Fascinating video, thanks. I love your level of attention to detail. Spot on. Most explorers only upload around 15 minutes, which doesn't do enough justice to the explore. I got the impression that the lady who recently left this house was very old, probably in her nineties or maybe over 100. Sad that she only had 3 Christmas cards, one of which was from her care agency and another from a concerned neighbour. There's occasional evidence of children / grandchildren (the framed photos), but the photos all looked at least 30 years old, suggesting that she became separated from her family a long time ago. Whatever went wrong between Iris and her family, it's really sad. The upside down photos are a real mystery - perhaps some kind of spiritual or symbolic statement by whoever did it.

Wow I have really missed this channel, been so long that in fact when I saw this in my feed I almost just passed it by. On those upside down pictures, my theory on that is this lady most likely abandoned by the people closest to her (or they had passed long ago) and the memories of yesterday. They all represented the good times, and life had become the opposite for her in her final years. This was a statement by her. I say this judging by the fact the house & belongings have been left unclaimed for many years. She obviously died alone. So sad. Great upload and welcome back.

Those drawings in the photo album are awesome! I think a possible reason why the photos are upside down is perhaps the person didn't want to remember reality as it was like something happened in their life.

Hurrah. You are back. You've been missed! The riddle says 'a stone for cattle to scratch on'. There is apparently a condition that causes people to see things upside down (I had to google it :-) that would definitely make life challenging. The old funeral cards were beautiful, but that 2 were for children really breaks my heart. Loved that little book with the riddle and the drawings. Thanks so much for sharing this explore with us. Looking forward to the next one!

Your the best explorer on KZfaq your attention to detail is second to none, love the way you take the time to show us all the interesting artifacts although you could do a second video on this place as there's still so much stuff to see. The upside down photos were very odd maybe the lady had some metal health issues, it seems she had family so its very strange that they haven't yet sorted her belongings out there are some valuable bits in there I'm surprised no one has claimed them. I love seeing the old photos and the small book with the drawings was amazing. Brilliant find thanks for posting.

We should spend all our money on good memories and holidays. Forget having fancy homes and have more fun instead . We can’t take it with us when we go!☹️ thank you 😊♥️♥️

What a sad, treasure trove of articles, memories. The upside down pictures could be a sign of depression...maybe of those who don't visit anymore. The mini food boxes could be from a doll house? I must say the folding fan, because of it's age and package, is most likely hand tatted silk(?) lace. The spines are probably ivory! That's something I could not pass on! It needs conserving and protected in a case! Thanks for taking us there. Save the fan!

Hi, thanks for your info on the items, especially the fan, it really was a nice quality item, just imagine how well dressed the person who used it would have been back in 1899:) I think you could be right about the photos being turned upsidown because of people not visiting, I hadn’t thought of that. . . . . A fresh change from other explorer vlogs I have watched where the home has been trashed vandalised and looted. I think an elderly person lived there and they are either in a nursing home or passed away. I hope you are the only one that will see this place as if the wrong people go there the place is doomed. Natural decay will win over in the end unless the family do something. Thank you :)

Hi Wendy, it was really nice to see this place just left the way it was, no one had been in there and moved things around for their photos or spray painted the walls etc. I think you’re right about going into a nursing home, makes sense why sooooo much was left in this place:) Thanks for watching

I don’t speak German at all, but about that word “puzzle” you found….is it referring to “Crystal Night”? And I would LOVE to know why the photos were wrong-side up! That may well be forever unknown. If I had to guess what happened, I would say the woman had some sort of physical or mental emergency. She was removed from the home and likely died. That doesn’t answer why everything is left, why the upside down pictures or why the home remains intact (mostly). Very strange.

Wow, that made me feel weird. It seems as if she was going to come in at any minute. And it made me think of someone going through my stuff after I've 'gone'. I reckon the photos had been turned upside down by a previous explorer as a prank or more likely, a superstitious relative who didn't want to be 'watched' whle ransacking. It amazes me how places and possessions get left to rot like this, there are always little treasures and valuable things left and surely the property has value and must belong to someone, it can't be council owned, they would not leave it that long. I think some of the food is more recent, maybe someone lived or stayed for a while after the lady (I assume a lady) died/left, no way were the bread and used tea bags over 5 years old! I think it was a lady with a heavy smoker husband, one of them had a connection to the church, maybe as a warden, and their son was a scout!

This was amazing house and the only one I've seen not randsacked n trashed it just looks like the older person just left to Hospital and never came back and the last room looked as if somebody started packing for them and got word they weren't coming back. Rather sad but it happens to all of us but you would've thought some family members would've claimed the place and things there. I just hope it stays that way until time takes it over and its not trashed spray painted up as so many are. The decline of our society is shameful and I'm only little over a half a century old now and can relate to and know about some of the items in that home...
