Hello! Eh Up! And how ya Diddlin!? In this weeks video, we’re exploring the amazing architecture of our railways and canals in Rugby. The Great Central railway, was a work of art, in terms of its architecture. It was, and still is a masterpiece. The Oxford canal, which is a stone’s throw away, and built well over 100 years before the GCR, is another masterpiece to.
In today’s video, we’ll be sticking our beaks into both, a Noseh that certainly got the ode IndiAndy Jonesin juice’s flowing lol!
I hope you enjoy the video!
Cheers, Steve ❤️

Well what can I say Steve me ode, you've done it again. What a wonder of historical masterpieces, the canal the culverts and the railway structures. It's sad that we'll never see engineering like this ever built to the same standard again. They were absolute masters of their time back in them days. 😊😊😊

Thank you Adrian. You’re right, we probably never will see it again unfortunately. Incredible really what could be achieved with a small rectangular piece of clay, a brick and all its friends!

Really interesting video Steve, part of my campaign (I am the Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for The Green Party) is to reuse some of the sections of the disused railways in South Leicestershire.

Stop paying your TV licence! How good is Michael Portillo and Alexander Armstrong and all that BBC expense compared to Snibston's Roger Corman doing it on pennies? This is a beautifully produced video Steve, presented well with clear passion, lots of information and already better than anything on the box on a Sunday night. Easiest 23 mins on the X- trainer also! Love it and can see the channel continue to grow in numbers , appy days

The original line of the North Oxford Canal between Braunstone and Suttons stop Hawkesbury Coventry was dug to the contour, during the 1820`s they realigned some of it and shortened it by I am told in the region of 26 miles. A couple of examples the original Newbold tunnel ran at 90 Degrees to the current tunnel and the cut used to cross Brinklow High Street twice.
