At first I wanted you to turn this into a series. But then I watched a bunch of Rye's vids and while its entertaining, a lot of those games were quite boring to watch through. After a bit, I found myself skipping to the end or just turning it off. I have never done that with one of your vids bc I find that they're informative and they continually keep me interested. I fear there just isnt enough out there in dead games to really be entertaining over the long haul. I wouldnt mind seeing you attempting to go more in depth in the ones you did highlight for this one, like you do with your HLL vids. Or doing the dead game series sporadically. But I dont think it should get much attention. Thanks for asking though!

Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is such a great game, the best Vietham War game out there. So sad the developers abandoned the game and let it half completed and badly optimized because they wanted to make a game called '83, we suposed to have more content as tanks and mechanics (they had a Trello showing the upcoming content but it's now deleted).

i had no other game that made me feel as much dread as rs2. The sound design is so great. I miss the times where i sat in the tiniest house, artillery raining down on me, screams and cries of dieing people around me - i huddled in the corner feeling each explosion more than the last and hoping i wouldn't be next.... This game also inspired me to collect more than just ww2 items. i made myself a basic, yet neat Vietcong outfit

They did exactly the same thing for red orchestra 2 … they promised a lot but never made anything and the game quickly died … in fact so fast that barely a year after the release they gave the game for free on the weekend on steam … A shame because tripwire made awesome games such as red orchestra 1 or killing floor 1 … but they seem to struggle to make any good suite after that. Rising storm was not bad to be fair but I still get caught with RO1 and his mod Darkest Hour. Rising storm Japanese (because rising storm was actually the name for the pacific front add on of RO2) was also really badly made … a shame because there was some good ideas …

With smaller games with lower player counts, everybody is like a family. For example, War of Rights (a company-focused Civil War game) has certain officers and NCOs that everybody knows and likes to play with.

Glad you checked out holdfast mate! 😁❤The game really isn't really dead there are a lot of people that play at peak times, which is usually 16:00 BST - 03:00 BST from my experience, they do have a WW1 DLC which is dead but the Napoleonic part is the main selling point, been playing the game for 3 years and have 2k hours in it and has helped me through tough times, it is a great game when you know the community since the community is what drives it, there are also organised public linebattle events ran by the developers Anvil Game Studios on Tuesday 20:00 BST, Thursday 21:00 BST and Sunday 20:00 BST. 🙂Hope to see you on the battlefield again mate!

You forgot another name. Back in 2015 when i was 15. Used to play alot of "heroes and generals". That is very special game, near to my heart. That game helped me to pass through difficult times creating beautiful memories

FYI holdfast isnt dead.....just join a regiment...the regiment scene is thriving!!!! Ive been playing since 2019 and its been my longest ever hours in a game (over 3000). Also there is public linebattles every monday to wednesday (8pm Gmt) and thursday with all the streamers (sovietwomble, dinklebean etc.) At 9pm GMT. The games focus is mainly linebattles and its a fun way to play. All of your gameplay is Army Battlefield mode but join for a linebattle sometime and you wont regret it!!!

Squad 44 never had a big player count. But last month and after a few patches und updates there are a littler more player activ. Maybe 2-4 Servers are full at prime time

Holdfast and Post Scriptum are not dead. PS got a nice resurgence (1,500 players) after being bought out by Overworld (Creators of Squad, PS started as a mod for the game)

Squad 44 wasn't dead since OWI acquired it; plus, it's really not hard to find populated servers (if you are not from Australia or US west coast). Putting Squad 44 into the thumbnail and then slapping a "0 Players In-Game" onto it is just pathetic clickbait. Edit: But, to be fair, the video itself is very well-made and entertaining to watch.

Problem with holdfast ist there are Rules many Player dont hold. U dont shoot at the Commander. Listen to your Commander. Never trop the flag, If droped it have to be Pick Up by anyone as fastest possible. Line Up Hold the Line Close gap. Most Player dont hold to thoes Rules. Back in mount and Blade they was a Napoleon DLC IT rocked and Had a good Community and working as a Line was Key for Victory.

the mount and blade community still also exists on now both games warband and bannerlord. And there it works just better with the players because they have to be part of the regiment to even be abel to play in the linebattels

i would say that none of these games are actually dead, like in the sense that their player amount has been very much the same since the beginning and there is most of the time few fully stacked servers which is pretty normal for indie games like these

Postscriptum (now squad44) is not dead. There's is always a (mostly) full server for europe and usa. When bussy there are around 4 full server. The thumbnail is misleading

Not hating or saying anything bad, but the video title and the thumbnail look strangly similar to rye games videos. There is nothing wrong with getting inspiration from other youtubers, but try to work on your own style of titles and thumbnails, maybe also adding a twist to the concept of the videos.
