I think the watch that the lunar pilot is based on was an automatic watch.

El Omega Speedmaster Professional y este Bulova Lunar Pilot que llevó el astronauta David Scott, eran movimientos de cuerda manual de Omega y Universal respectivamente. En la Tierra los relojes automáticos funcionan por la fuerza de la gravedad, fuera de la atmósfera, con gravedad 0 las masas oscilantes de la máquinas automáticas suben y no transmiten fuerza al movimiento del reloj. @@astrix1014The first automatic chronograph in space was the Sinn 140 during the D1 mission in 1985. Automatic winding works in space!

Is this a reparable movement? I see some screws but I am not sure...

I looked into it, and I cannot find anything that says this movement is repairable. Considering the cost of the watch, it might be more cost effective to just replace the movement.

Just remember to turn off the chronograph when not needed

@@benjamincalderon2080 Can only polish where there is a polished finish. Use cape cod clothes, but not where there is brushing.

Yes, it does. I did not notice that before. Usually watch movements with have jewels for bearing surfaces. I believe the seiko nh35 automatic movement has 25 jewels. Quartz movements would typically have around 5 ot so.

@@WrongTimeWatchno need for jewels in lightweight japanese quartz. Self-lubricating plastics etc. Swiss quartz movements have ones because they are fully made of metal which cause unnecessary friction, need for jewels, lubrication and excessive battery drain while being more fragile than special plastics used by Miyota and Seiko.

On the web page Bulova estates the precisionist movement has no less than 8 jewels, so we need a clarification from the manufacturer here.

How often do you have to change the battery?

I would say between 2 and 3 years. It depends on how often you use the chronograph. The more you use it, the faster it will drain the battery.

David Scott's original 44mm was a manual-wind. Bulova's current Caliber NP20 is one of the top 10 most accurate quartz engines on the planet.

Mechaquartz is pretty nice. Very accurate and gives a nice sweep on the chrono. Also, no way of getting a mechanical chrono for that price, other than using an ST19 movement.

This isn't MechaQuartz. It's High Frequency Quartz 262kHz. Means 8 times more faster then normal Quartz. In fact the second's clock hand is more faster then normal quartz.
