Well i never visited Myrtles Plantation house but i heard it is quite haunted. There was a slave girl Hung in a tree on the property and her name was Chloe but i really love historic places like this even though i never get a chance to visit them in person/

I have been there twice,the second time I met a ghost between the gift shop and the main house ! I had no idea she was a ghost untill a few years later ! She was a white woman with dark hair and fair skin.she wore a beautiful dress of the antebellum style, it was blue and white series and had tiny flowers.and blue ribbons in the sleeves!She was solid and as anyone .My freind called me to go on the tour,when I looked back she was gone and the tour guide said they had no one there that wore costumes for the tour ! This was almost 40 years ago .

My family friends family member owns the myrtles plantation, I've gotten to see all the in and outs of that place and all i can say is that its defiantly haunted!! I wasn't a believer in ghost and stuff until I went to this place.

I would enjoy seeing more video's in the future. I hate spiders as well. My husband always sprayed twice a year. He would spray the foundation and yard itself and then spray inside. I moved to Virginia eight years ago from California and couldn't believe how big the bugs and spiders were. I'm use to them now, we live on eight acres right in the middle of the woods. I saw on your video when you were videoing at night and were shooting up toward the upper Windows a shadow which looked like a person standing there. The well was there in 1987 first time I went. But that upper part has been rebricked because it looked decrepid and had a fence around it.

If you rent a room and stay the night in the main house you can record videos it's just when doing the tour they dont allow you to record, I will be there doing the tour tomorrow and they told me I can take pics just not record so I guess that has changed from when you did this video to now. Well in the video of the Myrtle,s plantation inside the main house as he got a picture of the stair case there seems to be a dark figure of a tall man about 7or 8steps upthin and tall ,,I looked at the video more than once to be sure ,,,yikes how creepy ,,but the whole plantation is beautiful and well preserved and taken care of ,,but I don't think I,d want to go there after dark ,,no thank you ,,but I like historic places,,thanks for sharing

There's no actual documentation on any of previous owners ever had a slave named Chloe and there are detailed lists available. The story with Chloe is a story came up with in order to explain the supposed ghost of the lady seen by the children of previous owners..its been exaggerated over time and that one photo cemented it as fact but the story is inherently flawed and no document exists bearing that name or similar name ever associated with the property. Also, the story with 17th step thing, again is unprovable as no document exist that says he ever made it off the porch. Though he did die on the porch. 2 children also died of yellow fever within the home , though not poisoning by a slave girl. I'm still looking into the place but apparently public records are freely available in st francisville on the entire documented history of the property. Which is a bit different than urban legend told by staff would have one believe. Still, it makes for a good ghost story but this place doesn't need some mere perpetuated urban legends exaggerated over a hundred years as the facts themselves speak.Place is apparently haunted , by whom exactly is a question yet to be answered.

My girlfriend and I stayed in one of the upstairs bedrooms in late December of 2011...she watched the "Ghost Hunters" TV shows...she was a believer.. I was not...everything went well until about 2am or so...she kept waking me up saying she heard furniture being moved...I think maybe one other couple was in one of the upstairs bedrooms...the next morning we were going to NOLA and Biloxi...while she got ready I snapped some pics with my iPhone...our room had a canopy bed...in the dark corner of the room by the bed I later noticed a blue glow in the photo...I didn't even notice it until we got back to Texas...a phone camera brings the light out in a pic...but in reality it was really dark in that corner...someone said to me it was a nightlite or my laptop on the floor...nope there was nothing there except dark...then a year later I watched a show about the Myrtles and they were talking about a bed that moves.. it was in the room right beside ours👻...I tried to post the pic here, but couldn't figure out how...

We took a trip and stayed in the coco house. My wife and i was taking pictures of my step daughter. Im the photo it seems we captured a shadow figure. It look like it would be a woman in a black dress.
