Featuring the Bay Area Rapid Transit's second generation of trains, manufactured by Bombardier which eventually became bought out by Alstom. These train sets are commonly referred to by railfans as 'the Fleet of the Future'. It is now the only fleet in the entire BART system.
April 20, 2024 was the last day of the legacy fleet (first generation, 1972-2024) in service. Having occured with a proper ceremony to celebrate the history that made BART the way it is today, many railfans including myself joined such a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that will become history for generations to come.
BART is a very weird system because although it acts like a rapid transit system like many transit agencies do, it charges distance-based fares similar to a commuter rail system. The system features five lines: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, and Blue Lines, which run all across the San Francisco Bay Area, including San Jose.
DISCLAIMER: I am not intending to harass the passenger involved in the situation I encountered. The one and only reason the person had an issue with me was all because she made a very ignorant decision to jump in my camera, which could've been avoidable on her part. Most importantly, children should not by any means attempt to mimic situations like this, as they're judged very differently and require common sense.
