I'd been pressuring my mate Charlie to take me into the Windan Bridge he finally did in January 2022. It was an amazing experience because I'd never been in a service tunnel like this before and there were four of them than run over the Swan River from East Perth to Burswood. Two are for Main Roads and two are for the PTA's Armadale/Thornlie train line.
There was next to no graffiti and it was so clean, it felt like I was pretty much stepping into time. The crew were hell keen to check it out too so they went in the next night. The third night, I went in with two mates and we all had our bikes.
Those same two mates were the ones who helped me get into the Mt Henry Bridge, which was also fairly clean. My video of those service tunnels had some 70k views and it's amazing that it pretty much kicked off a trend starting from that TikTok video and is a constantly visited place and full of the most amazing artwork and murals. As well as the usual tag shit.
I haven't been back to the Windan Bridge but no doubt it'll have a lot more graff and tags since the beginning of the year.
You sure find some great talented artists down in those service tunnels. It's a pity not enough people get to see it but atleast we can share it through our photos and vids.
