Jeremy and Adam, Keep doing what you're doing guys. I live less than 20 miles from the Mississippi River, so I know exactly how wicked this river is. I was so amazed at the story that just came out on the local news just a few days ago. Nov. 25, 1990, Paul Knockel was reported missing by his family when he didn't show up for a family gathering and also missing several days of work. He's from the Dubuque, Iowa, area. His 1981 Mercury Zephyr was recently located at a Dubuque boat ramp by a dredging operation. Police were called and the vehicle was removed from the boat ramp and was later identified using its license plate (the police were surprised the plate was still readable), as the vehicle Knockel would have been driving when he went missing in 1990, but sadly, no remains were found. AWP searched for this vehicle like a year or so ago, and didn't find it. It was in the Mississippi River, so I wondered if it had A LOT of silt on it. We have major flooding every year, so lots of silt and debris. This lady's car might be buried also.

Diabetes is a tough thing to have to live with. If Ms. Rushton ignored her symptoms while driving and went into a diabetic coma. She could have very well driven into a body of water. I love how you look no matter how old the case is. It must be nice for the family to know that their loved one isn't forgotten no matter how many years have gone by. The bad thing about her being missing is that she is Type 1 diabetic. Which means that she might have gone anywhere but believed she was headed in the right direction. My BFF (may she rip) was Type 1 diabetic and we found her having an insulin attack behind the wheel in some odd locations. She also had accidents because she didn't check her bloodsugars before getting behind the wheel. A diabetic with low bloodsugars driving is no different than a drunk driver. I say that because the driving style is very similar. Police officers can't tell the difference at times and assume the person is drunk and not realizing it is a dire medical emergency. God Bless you for checking the waters in the area. But you need to check all water in the range that her car would have had the gas to get to, a very daunting task I know. She might have been headed north from spot A to get to point B - but she was supposed to be heading south from A to B. Good luck on all of your searches and/or pulling vehicles. You might want to consider getting a Weed Eater or something similar for thicker Bushes! Boots could be beneficial for places where you won’t worry about Thorns! Sandals and Flip Flops for all other areas!

Note to self, Jeremy…..flip flops are for the boat, knee/hip boots are for thorny brambles and snake infested areas. Also, you need plant identifier on a phone to know what you’re stepping on.

Both her husband and her friend Lowery believe she likely would have went to get cigarettes at a convenience store or pharmacy on the way there. Police checked all the stores and none of the employees had seen her. The tag number of her Volkswagen rabbit was 1D 25135. She had suffered an insulin seizure just two nights before. If you go back, the small lake at Aldrige Gardens was there in 1970 and is just one turn before the street where to game was, don't know how accessible it was though. Cahaba Lake might be another spot, south part of Paradise Lake, Indian Valley lake and Indian Estates lake have intersections/curves where a car could go in.
