Bts never performed for Kim jung-un 😭 it was another Kpop group….and it was a girl group too💀 red velvet. Idk how they mess that up, it seems tho that the person who made this video kinda just did some basic research on how contracts work in The Kpop industry and some of the bad things that has happen. Though a-lot of the context in this video is true but the experience also defers depending on the company you are in. After most Kpop groups 7 year contract, if they do choose to renew it there is usually more negotiation between the members and the company, so the members can now decide how much more pay they get and some other things. And the companies would usually comply especially if the group they r negotiating with is one that makes a lot of money for them. But for instance with BTS’s company they always had a pretty good relationship with their company though I would like to say that it probably has a lot to do with the fact that they were a very very very small company and honestly in my opinion couldn’t afford to be as strict as other bigger companies as that would probably just drive trainees to leave. BTS still had to follow rules and keep in shape and whatnot but not at all to the extent stated in the video. Some idols have better experience than others but it is important to note that the entire Kpop industry isn’t ALL like this but it is also important that we don’t just brush aside the parts of the industry is IS like this.

1) 9:40 i won't lie to you, visuals are a pretty big attractor for kpop stans. i personally wouldn't care as much if the idols themselves had big noses or other beauty "flaws" as long as they are still likeable personality-wise and can perform. and not all of them need ps anyway to be good-looking lmao it's just a normalised concept 2) 16:18 bts never performed for kim jongun.. bro did no clear research there 3) 21:11 kim jonghyun had already been suffering from "depressive feelings" ever since he was young aka before being an idol. the industry didn't cause it but it did trigger it and eventually lead him to his end. he's from a really iconic k-pop group called shinee and they were one of the most well-known boygroups in korea around the 2010s and still to this day. rip jonghyun 🙏

A lot of the things being said on that video are not applied to many artists, for example people under YG and Hybe like bts have more freedom than artists under other agencies. Also I don’t understand why people want to paint kpop as some type of evil/horrible industry when the American music industry isn’t great either, these industry’s have their flaws. Also bts didn’t perform for Kim Jung un, that person didn’t do their research and it shows. Also some of the mistreatment mentioned in the video doesn’t happen anymore, the industry has been changing over time:

It wasn't BTS who performed in North Korea; they aren't even allowed to perform there due to the restrictive norms of that country. This content creator isn't accurate in many things. He's featuring BTS throughout his entire video just to portray the darker side of K-pop. However, the truth is that BTS is a group with the freedom to make their own choices, and I believe this is a key reason for their success and dedication. While every K-pop idol is talented and trained, many suffer due to their companies' control. I feel deeply for small group idols who essentially become slaves to their companies, lacking the autonomy of groups like BTS and Blackpink. Let me clarify one more thing: while this harsh reality exists in parts of K-pop, not all groups suffer in the same way. K-pop has evolved, and many groups are independent, managing their own work. Still, it's heartbreaking to think of those who lost their lives. Rest in peace to them, and I hope that those responsible face justice, whether by law or by a higher power. Karma does indeed exist.

To the 2nd guy to the left tho lol going to coachella costs money too like if you go there on your own like what you're suggesting like if that idol wannabe wants to do it independently and you still flop bruh it wont be worth it. Thats not how kpop business works. You dont just keep investing on your own just bc you can. The instances of flopping is greater bruh. Everyone in the industry go under the same training period as BTS but not everyone is as successful as bts and most groups that get recognized enough are just lucky. Thats why i kinda agree to the far left guy that most trainees still choose to go to big companies and train their whole like bc they have methods in the business to be successful.
