Thanks for pointing out the differences, I haven't had to look for a new door opener as yet, but all the manufactures had to do for retail openers, is list the DC motors as "This is equivalent to a 'such and such' HP ac motor, with a 'this will lift up to' a ???LB door.

Thanks for the videos, I took your advice from a video I watched of yours and installed a Chamberlain B6753T 1 1/4hp belt driven opener to replace my noisy chain 1/2hp opener. Once i got the Chamberlain it was a lot quiter but now I'm noticing my torquemaster center wall bracket (metal bracket with plastic wheel) is super squeaky! I tried to lubricate it but its horrible and bearing grease & white lithium grease didn't help.... Do I need to replace this? is there a ball bearing option i can get instead of a plastic wheel rubbing on a metal plate? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!

Thank you so much for providing this feedback. After applying the lubrication did the noise subside any? What other areas did you apply the lubricant? How long after did the noise start to manifest after installing the opener?

@@sosgdsI'm starting to think the noise is actually coming from the bearing on the left side cable drum assembly. the unit is 12 years old and I use the garage door a lot probably 4-5 times a day.

I have a rental townhouse (built in 1995) that has a 2 car garage with a door opener. The garage had an “I” beam running parallel to the 16x7’ garage door. The door had a 1/3 hp chain drive Liftmaster model 1250 LM opener. It stopped working at the end of last year. I purchased a 1/2 hp belt drive opener Chamberlain model B2401MC, I had a local dealer install it in January (l live in a Chicago suburb) and the opener was too long, the I beam was in the way. The original opener was modified when installed, the track was cut and chain shortened. I saw someone do this to this opener, shortening both the track and belt. I called the HOA president and asked if she had run into a problems putting in openers. She sent me pictures of her opener installed through a whole cut into the covering of the I beam. I did the same, cut an opening in the drywall, a little larger than the pictures. The dealer came back and installed with no modifications to the opener. The dealer made 2 trips to install and didn’t charge me anything more than the original price. I’ve been dealing with him for about 10 years. Rapid door in Lake county does great work and is very honest and fair. The opener is working perfectly and my tenant loves the MyQ feature and it’s below their bedrooms and is very quiet.
