I’m a woman. Would have up to recently identified as “left”. I’m a spiritual teacher, someone many would consider a “hippy” in many respects. Jordan Peterson has literally become a savior for my life, he has helped me bring so much peace to so many painful beliefs.... I am eternally grateful. He does NOT just appeal to young men.... he appeals to the souls calling for Truth which IS universal

How is reducing a 90-minute interview down to 13 minutes an “extended interview”

I've lived in Canada all my life and I don't think I've ever seen a more brilliant Canadian than this man ever.

Cut to make Peterson seem unreasonable, and he still comes out on top.

Just to make clear, all the dislikes are for NBC and this sorry joke of a man pretending to be a journalist. What a shame. Jordan, we love you.

This man is smart. I have had many of my ideals shifted due to listening to his podcasts and lectures. He speaks logically no matter who is listening, liberal or conservative.

If young men in the usa are attracted to Jordan Peterson I say to them you picked a real man to admire. He is all of that.

Jordan Peterson helped me pass university, helped organise my career and now I’m looking to start a family. I would have been lost without this man.

Did the interviewer do any research on Peterson’s ideas at all? Or did he just spend his time practicing his questioning face in the mirror?

I lean liberal (keyword: LIBERAL, not leftist) and can clearly see what NBC and the mainstream media does to Peterson. Doesn't matter where you are on the political spectrum; the mainstream media is just trying to smear Peterson because it's easy that way.

This interviewer is painful to watch. He had every question pre loaded and never once took something Jordan said and asked a secondary question off of his response. This was a one way conversation and the editing was awful

Jordan should start recording the full audio of every interview he does, including how the presenter treats him before and after the cameras are rolling and release them all online.

NBC - You're hurting yourselves here, not Peterson. The guy is too prolific and well referenced to try and misrepresent him the way you have. In less than thirty seconds, we can access what he really said, and what he really stands for, and you are then exposed as employing deceit. You regained a little credibility in releasing the full thing. But your reputation has been hit. You're off my subscription list.

I have been watching JBP for a long time and it is very absurd that anyone would call him a radical right-winger. It is shameful that people misrepresent JBP o the extent that they do.

The interview lasted 90 minutes, yet only 13 minutes show up in here. Meaning a tremendous amount of editing involved. Like him or not, Peterson is very big on context and detail in his arguments rather than small snippets. Meaing there's some 77 minutes of context missing from here. Not cool. With the media already under attack for supposed bias, you're not doing yourself or anyone else any favors by editing out the vast majority of the interview.

Pausing to think before answering is a skill that people debating Jordan Peterson should emulate.

What an annoying interviewer... he was trying to bait Jordan the whole time.. and the last question the look on his face said "you better be careful with your answer"

I am 71 years old, university educated and was a working professional in education and ministry for 40 years, hardly a member of the radical right. To my mind, Jordan Peterson is the voice of reason, a man who clearly is thinking. I question some of his theories but what I will not accept is the obvious backlash from ideologues who have lost any appreciation for rational thought and reasoned and respectful dialogue. I am also dismayed by a media that repeatedly attempts to bait him before a camera for ratings and $. This is a man who is putting some of the most glaring limitations of ideology be it Christianity, feminism, fascism, or new Thought under a spotlight and extremists are outraged while the people in the middle are confused and wondering what to think. Leave the extremists to do what they do. Those of us out here who don’t know what to think are in a favored position if we rise to the challenge to think ... for ourselves. Don’t think like Jordan Peterson but do what he is doing. Think for yourself, speak up and then listen, really listen to the response. When we do that we will do what Peterson has done and what he demonstrates so beautifully. We will learn.

Dr. Peterson is like an old testament prophet, calling the lost and disillusioned of this generation to first correct their own behaviour before trying to correct the world's, these days that message is profound and often life changing.

Dear NBC: You should strongly consider having an internal meeting about re-instituting journalistic integrity and honest reporting. The original piece you aired after highly editing this interview is a reputation disaster for you. It take less than 15 minutes of searching on youtube, and google to expose your reporting as highly inaccurate, and in many way blatantly biased and factually inaccurate. It is shoddy work like this that allows Trump to get away with calling you fake news. You need to return to a higher standard of pursuing truth regardless of you own personal opinions. The person who had final sign off on the editing of that piece should be fired for having damaged to public image and there by the value of NBC's Public credibility.

I love the idea that this interviewer decided to bring out the cushion to defuse any tension and to attempt to bring Jordan’s guard down whilst being interviewed. Nice tactic. Didn’t work though did it mate?

So the extended version of a 90 minute interview is less than 14 minutes?

Jordan has opened up and increased my EQ. My mind is a sponge and when I listen to him I nod my head in a knowing that I already knew it in my soul and recesses of my mind. Jordan is a human key unlocking our identify treasures. I cant get enough of his talks.... Hes the light and the truth and a fair number of us are magnetically drawn to him. Wonderful man.

I think the problem is that he is so intelligent that most people don't understand what he's really saying. So many people these days take offense instead of trying to understand what someone is saying or where they are coming from. It's either laziness or just a lack of intelligence.

American here... We need men like this in power. Voices of reason are exactly what this world needs to ensure the most promising path in the future. Did you see how careful he was with his wording? The words you utter actually do matter and speaking off the cuff about things you know nothing about can be dangerous. If I had to guess Dr. Peterson's position on the political spectrum then I would say Right-Center. He's honest with himself and not a mouthpiece with an agenda.

I never watch NBC. But I did tune in for Jordan p. Last time I try that. Peterson I not pushing people to the right. NBC, CNN, ect are the ones pushing people to the right.

NBC trying to reach Kathy Newman status.

I've been a radical liberal for most of my life. I love Jordan Peterson. Though he has no intention of generating "fans," he has them. Whether he likes it or not he is performing now; people are "reading" and interpreting what he says and does. So anyhow, I am not a right winger most of time and yet Peterson's views resonate with a great deal with my own. So interviewers need to realize that he is not as aligned ideologically as they're leading people to think.

I am not a "fan." I amm not from the far right or far left. I like logic thought. I like math. I do no like & rarely watch television. A mentally & physically healthy working adult has little time for sitting around watching TV. Those like myself work, get gas, groceries, and/or go to the bank as needed. Then we go home to cook a healthy dinner, eat, take a walk perhaps with the family dog, open daily mail, pay bills, read pertinent email correspondance, call or go check on elderly parents, reach out to our grown children, etc... Then, with very little time left, we decide who and/or what we will read about, a detective novel?, the bible?, current politics?. Many of us who like, read, & listen to Jordan Peterson came across him accidently while delving into current political issues at hand. We are not star struck fans of a media driven current fad. We are responsible, adults who like other, not perfect, but responsible adults who contribute new ideas, thoughts, clarify & expound on others for us to enrich our minds.

After watching and listening to hours and hours of Professor Peterson, I'm convinced that all he does is...make sense.

This man is truly a gift to us and the world in an hour when we all need to listen more. When he says "I don't have fans, I have people who are listening carefully to what I am saying", @ 6:30, that really resonates with me (as he skillfully avoids being "Labelled" by the interviewer). What a wonderful world it would be if people listened instead of talking, considered instead of reacting. I believe the greatest gift an effective communicator has is the ability to carefully and critically listen, (not just hear). Some sage advice; "Listen and consider what the others are saying and do not blindly follow anyone, nor any dogma, nor the vox populi". In the end, you should question everything, listen to the responses and consider, rather than making noises (to drown out the other person if what they are saying doesn't fit your current thinking), reacting and labeling someone, simply because their opinion is different to yours.

When did we get away from just reporting/interviewing and instead have to always have an agenda? Jordan does a great job in this as always.

I am impressed that NBC actually acknowledges his existence. Another shocker… I’m a HUGE Joe Rogan fan, and yes he is silly and a meathead. Here’s a thought… instead of editing this interview to 13 minutes give your viewers a bit more credit to handle a real in-depth serious discussion.

As a white/Asian woman in Canada who is from his current hometown, I have become a HUGE fan. His comments are well thought out and come from his incredible intellect and knowledge. This joke of an interviewer is doing a pathetic attempt to try and trip Dr Peterson up, that will never happen

I think this is perfect as much as people complain about the edits. "Yes there is inequality and we should do something about it." Under the same breath "I'm not convinced that there is any reasonable solution or that we should do anything about it." Perfectly sums up Peterson

I wasn't of the impression that the interviewer was in stealth attack mode here. He challenged Jordan Peterson with questions about his teachings, or presented criticisms that have been aimed at Peterson, and then gave him (Peterson) a chance to respond. The follow-up questions seemed to be more geared toward confirming his (the interviewer's) understanding, as opposed to trying to put words in Jordan Peterson's mouth (see: Cathy Newman). Jordan Peterson was given a full opportunity to respond to the questions without undue interruption, and (predictably) he explained his viewpoint in a logical, articulate, and convincing manner. The interviewer may not wholeheartedly agree with Jordan Peterson, but I won't question his professionalism.
