Thank you for the very practical mods for Winnebago View owners. I like to buy combination lock for basement storage, can you please show me where and what to buy?

Hi and thanks for watching. This is the lock we used: Combi-Cam 7850R-XL Combination... www.amazon.com/dp/B005OAWOAK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Taking those flex panels are definitely a pain. Hard to believe they used that much silicone adhesive and still screwed them down too. I really like that liner spray you used. Doing the whole roof may even make the roof stronger/tougher (it needs all the help it can get).
@MilesAcrossUSA
@MilesAcrossUSA 2 жыл бұрын
There is really no need to screw them down. The screws are basically trying to hold onto styrofoam. That bed liner spray really is some tough stuff and it was easy to apply. Thanks for watching.

Nice job George! It’s a shame you had to remove the solar panels! I believe your new ones are probably much more efficient and will last longer though!😉

Yeah, but it had to be done. The new ones are a lot more efficient. Hope you guys are doing well.

Hello great video 👍. I have a 2019 24J View, and I will replace my two original flexible panels next week. Which panel do you recommend for maximizing solar capture? Thank you.
@MilesAcrossUSA
@MilesAcrossUSA 4 ай бұрын
I installed 2 Newpowa 210watt panels on my 19G a couple years ago. The industry has made some improvements since then. Renogy has Bi-Facial panels that are supposedly more efficient. Make careful measurements on your RV roof and choose the panels that produce the most potential watts. I have been happy with the two 210watt panels I installed but they are not able to fully charge my 200aH lithium batteries especially during the winter months so I am in the process of adding two 115watt Monocrystalline Bi-Facial panels from Renogy to my system giving me a potential total of 650watts. I think Monocrystalline panels are more efficient than Polycrystalline panels. My configuration will require that I run new wire and add a separate solar charge controller for the new smaller capacity panels. I am happy with both Newpowa and Renogy. Buy the biggest Monocrystalline panels you can fit on your roof. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and safe travels.

Great video. One question-is the shutoff for the propane done at a switch at the refill location or can I use the switch inside above the fridge? Thx,
@MilesAcrossUSA
@MilesAcrossUSA Жыл бұрын
Both the switch inside and the one by the fill port must be ON for propane to flow. We usually turn off the one inside and leave the one outside in the on position. That being said, usually the person filling our tank will flip the outside switch to off before filling.

Greetings from an Englishman 🇬🇧 in Arabia! ☺ I'm looking at a 2018 Winnebago View as I hope to prepare for some overland long trips in Main Land Europe. Any ideas on essentials that I should take please? May God bless you both! ✝️🙏

If you will be doing mostly campgrounds with electric hookups, a electrical management system (EMS) is essential. If you will be primarily off grid, we would recommend replacing the two stock flooded batteries with at least 200 amp hours of lithium batteries. 400 amp hours would be even better and at least 400 watts of solar on the roof. The other essential item would be a tire pressure monitor. Our third recommendation would be a high quality water filter. Best of luck with your plans and safe travels.

@@MilesAcrossUSA Thank you! ☺ It won't be for a year or more etc. I've tried your website and its not working from here? Can you recommend a good "View/Navion" website forum to join please? I don't use Facebook!

@@gereshomeE The best forum is the View/Navion Motorhomes Facebook Group. It would be worth signing up for Facebook for that group alone. That group has a standalone website as well at viewnavionmotorhomes.com with lots of information such as owners manuals and much more. The thing we like about the Facebook group is you can post a question and expect an answer within minutes. The other website we use is viewnavion.com. It contains how to articles for a bunch of modifications. The author of that website is also a member of the Facebook group. Hope this helps.

Hey George great video, I'm getting ready to do the same to my 2021 View adding five 100 watt panels. Do you have a link for Bob Kelley for the stand offs?

A little minor hairline crack here and there. That’s why I covered the areas with the truck bed sealant.

Thanks for the great info. I am going to install carefree awning motion kit do you have the switch wire diagram from the oil switch my model 2019 24G view thanks Jerry
@MilesAcrossUSA
@MilesAcrossUSA 11 ай бұрын
Hi Jerry. I’m not sure what you are asking for. The kit comes with instructions and wiring diagrams. It was pretty easy to install. The original switch, which extended and retracted the awning is replaced with 2 switches. One for turning the power to the awning on and off and the other to extend and retract the awning.

Just purchased a 2018 View 24V. Previous owner has a lot of electronic mods that I have to learn how to work. The solar battery charge indicator only works when the engine is running. No interior lights work without running. Exit steps work running or not. Anything to look for ?
