Hey
Just trying to extract the best out of chain. Simplicity at its best I would say.
Cheers :)

Good time to change both sprockets as well. The front one looked deadly sharp :D

We used to do this back in the 70's when we were young and poor. Works fine - but obviously you are pushing your luck with possible chain failure. Thank you for the video I am going to have to shorten my new chain and this was an encouragement. I also enjoyed reading the local paper's headlines :-)

Hahahha, Hello mate, long time :).Trust me newspaper can come in very handy and its a very cost effective way to keep the surroundings clean, extracting the best out of every thing possible. Yup I know, pushing my luck indeed, I am kinda two minds about putting in the new chain sprocket set. I am even holding myself back with changing just the front sprocket. Fingers crossed. Will update shortly on how long this lasts ;) cheers

@@leuheanrede Always one of my favourite channels :-) We used to turn round the sprockets too to get more mileage out of worn out gear. May as well if the chain's kapput!

Hahaha🙂 Indeed mate. And trust me, I wouldn't have posted this I wasn't sure about the endgame. Which in this case is, couple of more thousand kms🙃 more than even I would have expected actually. Cheers

Thanks for another instructional vid bhai! I'm a bit like you, trying to get the last drop from the can. 28 k km is quite good, mine is at 22500 on the OEM chain, and it is still looking pretty nice. I did change the front sprocket but then I saw you turning the front sprocket around which I think is a very good idea.

:D Thanks bhai. I hear ya, its just not in me to let anything go because a paper says so. Thus ending up pushing things beyond serviceable limit( if you remember the episode about rear breaks wearing out to metal on pads on the last day of ride ;) ) It might hold up for another 2-3000 kms, I mean I have tried it on other bikes before but they are ridden in city mostly so not exactly sure how this will hold up on Himalayan with a proper offroad trip coming up shortly. This time I will carry the front sprocket and chain links, which are already tucked under the seat :) fingers crossed, lets see how it goes ;) cheers

I worked as a motorcycle courier for 6 years in Ireland and we all did this. Some people let their rear sprocket get so bad the teeth were rounded to nothing and on acceleration the Chain would slip if they reved too hard 😁😂

Not the optimal way to handle chain set, but I am an pessimistic optimistic 😉 let's see how far it goes. Cheers

Hey bro @9:21 just want to point out the direction of the lock clip is wrong, open end shouldn't be in the direction of rotation 😊

I have learned a lot with your knowledge and tutorials, and I thank you to a level that makes it hard for me to say this, but I think the clip goes in the opposite direction, the opening backwards and the closed part is the one that touches or attacks the viewer first gearbox gear. Greetings and my apologies if I'm wrong, and for my english...

🙃 it's all fine mate. I thank you and appreciate your candor. And trust me when I say this, "it's been tried and tested, and it really doesn't matter in which direction the clip is put in. I understand that F9 did do a vid on this with million views and when that happened I was literary shocked myself as to why someone that experienced and knowledgeable would say something like this. But I still appreciate your candor and honesty mate. Thanks and cheer 😊

I am sorry, dont get me wrong but what the orientation, its done 30+ k kms in some of the harshest terrain known, and its yet to come off, so its kinda non issue and may I add, its same for the rest of the bikes, one of which is well over 100k mark on odo. I might be very well wrong, but i would love to be proven wrong once it happens to me. lets wait for that day then, cheers ;)

How will chain cut and adding link will enhance the life ?? And also can you please tell how the chain usage meter will get reset to begining ??
@leuheanrede
@leuheanrede Жыл бұрын
Hey mate, sorry for the confusion, I actually cut and removed one link so that chain can be shortened and we can get extra room for chain slack adjustment as the spindle moves backward in the swingarm. I and sorry, I didn't get second question.
