Singer Lewis Capaldi got an “attack of Tourette’s” whilst performing at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK, says Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.
“What was extraordinarily moving was the way the crowd filled in the gaps and began singing, recognising the struggle he was having,” Mr Morgan said.

Elton John's discography consists of 31 studio albums, 5 live albums, 10 soundtrack albums, 16 compilation albums, 4 extended plays, 3 tribute albums, 4 collaboration albums, and 2 holiday albums. He deserves respect. I bet this news caster can't even remember what he said yesterday let alone sing a song 20 years old. Tell your newscaster to grow up.

Performers who struggle with the lyrics, you’ll normally find they struggle because someone else has written them. They get all the air time, then you’ve got artists like the Manics who write all their own, lyrics, music and give top notch performances who slip under the radar. The modern music industry for ya

Its not necessarily about the memory, of course you know the lyrics that you wrote, but when anxiety hits, and huge lights and stress and pressure of people's expectations, lots of artists get blank space in their head and cannot remember one single word. Lyrics on the stage don't mean they are not prepared well or that they don't give a shit, it is not that simple. And it is not that simple to just quit performing because it's something you love the most and can't live without it- paradox, I know. Lewis explained it well in one interview. People who never experienced it on their skin can't understand it, but judging without knowing what is happening inside someone's head is the stupidest thing you can do.

It's too much to expect that older artists are gonna remember every word from every song on their set list every gig they do... And not just older artists will use teleprompters because of memory issues but sometimes there are other issues at play... Elton used sheet music when he played at Princess Diana's funeral because he said he didn't want to take a chance and forget a note because of being overcome with emotion... he was good friends with her too... ... and Gord Downie of the Tragically Hip used a teleprompter for his final 10 gigs before he passed away from brain cancer because he couldn't remember most of the words to his songs; but he still powered through after his terminal diagnosis and did 10 concerts.💕

Please trip over your own shoes Piers with your criticism ... (Elton) He has just done OVER 300 shows on a farewell tour - all with different set lists, different timezone, different rushes to stage from arriving flights to venues that you as an artist hope have been set up correctly by the team and different set lengths according to the venues licences, therefore different songs following others that were not the same as last night, not to mention in different countries different local famous guests that come on stage and fill in parts of his songs - the man is 76.... he doesnt get to rehearse each show on a 300+ tour. This is just a safety net that everyone who is staring at the stage (in this case over 100,000) gets word perfect performance as it should be .. Looking forward to your wrinkly rants at 76.... id imagine with no autocue yeah ?
