Extrema Ratio Task fixed blade a bushcraft knife on steroids was taken into the wilds of Australia and used over a period of several weeks. Made from N690 Cobalt steel alloy and hardened to 58 Rockwell. The Task is a bushcraft knife on Steroids! Comfortable to handle and easy to control. A full tapering tang of 6mm, thumb gimping on the spine and a small part of the upper surface of the handle. The grip is made from a composite (glass fibre) of Forprene with a Shore hardness of 80-90, this gives an amazing grippy surface but at the same time giving the handle very good mechanical stability.
The blade edge profile is slightly curved and contains serrations to aid cutting fibrous materials. The Task has a tapering blade which really allows it to excel in cutting and slicing tasks (no pun intended!). Extrema Ratio describe the Task at being great for "all day cutting tasks" and I would agree with this 100%. Despite the thin tip, this is a tough blade. There is a choil for added control. The blade has been heat treated in a vacuum furnace and a positive pressure N2 atmosphere tempered.
The Task was extremely comfortable to use for general bushcraft activities. I thinned out Lawyer cane for making a friction/fire starter and despite the Task's size, it performed very well due to the blade design. Cutting up meat was no problem either. The steel held an edge and over several weeks of cutting into rock hard seasoned eucalyptus branches, this knife required no sharpening.

Lifetime warranty on the knife and 6 years on the great carry system. I'd recommend this knife.
As a last note some of you might be saying I can't strike a steel with the Extrema Ratio TASK, well you can in a emergency of course by using the serrated surface, it's not a big deal.
