It's an old beat up 5.11 tactical. I wouldn't buy one again because the belt sips and always has in the buckle bit it's ok for air travel as everything is plastic.

Many thanks for watching! It came directly from them. But of course one can/should (to avoid any knock offs- I'm not sure if there is one already or not - but nothing would surprise me with what I've seen) buy it from any of their acknowledged resellers.

Thanks for one more great video! I've noticed you have many Extrema Ratio models. Could you let me know, please, if all of them were razor sharp when you took them out of the box for the 1st time? I have a Fulcrum Black (you have a Fulcrum too, as far as I've noticed) but it's not very sharp. It's even difficult to slice a ripe tomato with it. What could you tell me, please? Thanks in advance!
@BushCampingTools
@BushCampingTools 2 күн бұрын
yeah I have to say they were all very sharp when i got them. But certainly, I've never had to retouch a blade when new out of the box. My fulcrum S I actually reground the edge but this wasn't because it wasn't sharp but i wanted it different for my applications with a less steep edge. My other Fulcrums, the NFG and the larger one were def super sharp out of the box. Many thanks for watching and commenting.

Why in the world did they put that large hole in the handle? They should have left it alone. If it was purposely skeletonized then why a hole in the handle? Man I tell you these companies, dunno what in the world they are thinking with holes in the steel.
@Zimerer
@Zimerer 2 күн бұрын
Totally agree with you. Also, dunno if happened only with me, my both Extrema Ratio knives (a Fulcrum Black and a Kukri KS) are not that sharp, mainly the Fulcrum Black (no problem about the Kukri). I don't know if whoever sharpened it did it wrong or if it's a characteristic of the brand. It's even dificult to slice a ripe tomato.
@BushCampingTools
@BushCampingTools 2 күн бұрын
I looked at it carefully Gruggs, it would be very heavy in the handle if they didn't remove some steel for sure, it's like 1/4" thick and immediately one can feel it is rather heavy for a relatively medium to large knife.. Plus it can be cord wrapped using those cut outs to hold and secure a cord. But just look at what i used it for, levering out that palm material with my full weight, it's strong for sure. I'll make a video about this I think.

I've got a military style Eco-Drive which is still going after 12 years of doing nothing to it aside wearing it now and again, it's scratched to high heaven from working on cars and taking it on holiday but even to this day it's never double ticked and the dial still glows a bright blue at night!

How do you compare this to the Dobermann IV? I really like the versatility of the Dobermann.
@BushCampingTools
@BushCampingTools 5 күн бұрын
Without a doubt the Dobermann IV has better cutting power/functionality, it can do everything I did with this knife and better shock absorbing capacity due to the Forprene grip. Some may argue the Tuscan will be stronger due to the full tang construction, however I would argue that the Doberman in normal, rational, realistic hands (even under adverse situations-I've been in some of them) would not let you down. The Tuscan will however, definitely be much easier to maintain the edge in the field without any proper sharpening tools and or having to have good sharpening skills due to it having a straight edge, unlike the Dobbermann IV. The Tuscan it is possible to cord wrap the handle, the Doberman, whilst this is possible it would be difficult I think to maintain it under hard use. Whist I bashed the tip of the Tuscan with that super hard (and heavy) chunk of dead eucalyptus wood, I would hesitate to do the same for the Dobermann IV because the tip whilst it is also slightly thickened it also has a slightly thinner swedge. The Dobermann IV, you can not press the palm of your hand into the butt to force the knife tip into anything because of the "persuader" type pommel which is more geared up for military use in CQ combat I would argue. The Tuscan whilst probably also heavily marketed towards military use, the rear end, one can easily place the palm of their hand against the butt and press hard without hurting your hand. The Dobermann IV can be used for hunting of large game. The Tuscan is definitely NOT a knife for hunting although you could in a pinch but it certainly wouldn't be my deliberate choice for such activities.

Well as they say, actions speak louder than words and these two watches (shown here) not just monetary wise but mechanical and aesthetics wise, are giving Japanese watches of similar design a run for their money. Sapphire crystal, Swiss Phosphors, fine attention to machining details, Ceramic bezel inserts (ok there IS a Japanese movement-Japan does seem to have the field here, ie TMI, which is a subsidiary of Seiko, and even those "watch movements" are made by the "group factories" of which more than like the movement is also made in China. But there is NO reason why China can not make quality products if she so chooses, just like any country, if they chose to. IMHO.
