Although I have been doing watercolor for many years, I have learned to adopt "the beginner mind" in order to recapture the joy and review the basics in order to improve. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos.

I painted the waterfall. Not done, yet,. I had to stop the video periodically just to catch up with you. So far I really like my painting, that said I have to confess a habit of fussing and micro-manageing the paint. I really liked how you worked the rocks.. I tried not to fuss and the rocks (almost) painted themselves. Really enjoyed the paint-along.

Just painted the waterfall and really enjoyed it. Fiddled too much towards the end and of course overworked it slightly, but great practise anyway. I like how you have no problem using black - so many times I hear that it's "wrong" to use black in watercolour but mixed with brown/red/green/blue it can make some really cool/warm darks.

Thank you, Chris! Three years into my watercolor journey and I've learned quite a bit from this video. I can get into my head, sometimes, and make things more difficult than they need to be. A waterfall is really a simple rectangle shape. Then, you work with it for there. A lightbulb went off in my head when you were drawing it out. Love the flowers, too, by the way. Just as a side note, I went to an antique mall last week. There was a booth with quite a few duck decoys. I thought of you and how much you would have liked them.

I usualy do the background first because I'm afraid to spoil the main painting. Next time I'll try to do as you teach.Thank you.
