Great shot here of the Nictitating membrane. Or the "White eye of death" as it has been called over the decades. It's actually a protective membrane that comes down & covers the eye when the shark bites. I had a couple of friends back in the Fiji island bitten because of this membrane. When spear fishing the shark would come and try to take the fish. But as the shark goes in to bite (membrane covers eye) my crazy friends would lift the speared fish out of the way. This would lead to a misbite as the shark missed the fish and bit their arm as they couldn't see properly at the last moment. My Fiji friends depended on fish as their food source so they were reluctant to give the fish up. Personally... just let the shark have the fish.
Especially these invasive lionfish.
