Tip for the future, cut a small V in your wall paper, fold it up, then drill for your screws. If you move the shelf/art etc, you can fold the small V of paper back down and glue it to cover the hole.

I know someone suggested in comments to put wallpaper in the fireplace but it doesn't look good at all. Good thing you're still gonna work on fireplace. The room looks fantastic! Go with your gut when it comes to design because you know what you and your family like. You've done exceptionally well when you've run with that😊

Take some scraps of wallpaper and cover cardboard with it. Fit into the "windows" of your piece and hold in place with tape or water base glue.

Whats so fun about being a grown up... is designing a room you dreamt of as a child! I love the pink and the wall paper. I just did a similar look but the board and batten is white, and the paper above is navy blue with woodland vines and foliage and deer head with antlers. Obviously mine is a boys room. But love the look. I am sure your girls are thrilled! I think a fun little project would be to make little stuffed logs and flame pillows for the fireplace to just set in front as a cute visual.

Looks absolutely stunning! I have no doubt the girls were tickled pink when they saw it. I might have been inclined to paint the inside of the door/door frame the same colour as the closet door and B&B wall trim … and perhaps even the fireplace mantle. But I also get the fact you probably wanted a wee bit of a contrast too. When the time comes and you’re ready to give new life to the antique bed frames, I’d paint them an off-white (or white) to match whatever dresser is in the room. Definitely has a showcase look of a country home magazine bedroom! I couldn’t believe how easy it was to hem the curtains without even taking them down … it was for sure cool to watch. Congrats on a job well done! 🙏🙌❤️🇨🇦
