I totally agree with you about a cohesive decor style for all rooms. Nothing makes a house look smaller and cheaper than whole different color scheme and style in every room. That upside down light fixture was funny! My favorite thing is that you took a chance and used vertical and horizontal wood in the hall. It really looks great. I think we worry too much about being matchy matchy.

I absolutely love that you have taken a modern home and given it so much character and beauty! The home diys are my favorite. I live in an old farmhouse that is a bit of a construction train wreck. I do lots of adapting. Thank you for sharing videos like this! I know they are frustrating to do (I’m living through the construction CONSTANTLY). It is very encouraging for me to watch. I like the stairway MUCH better. That gray/blue didn’t have the right feel for that space. I love the pictures of home! 💜 💔 💜 It is such a beautiful touch. This is probably my very MOST favorite of your videos! I'm a Midwestern girl, but for some reason I love Louisiana. And those prints are just so satisfying to look at! I want to shiplap the main wall in one small half bath, but I have to wait until Summer when I can bring my miter saw back from the farm, about 10 miles away (too cold and snowy right now). No place to put it here except on my deck. But it's easier and much quicker to make straight cuts with it rather than my circular saw. I can cut the panel pieces on the table saw at the farm and bring them in here. Be glad you have a garage, a basement, a CAR PORT! Anything, besides just a deck or patio for a "work space'. LOL. And youth. Youth is on your side, girl!

We redid our stairs by using cabinet grade plywood cut to match risers and the painted them. Then for the treads, my husband used cabinet grade plywood cut to fit then finished the edge with trim and routed the edge. We stained them and it was so beautiful. Sorry I don't have a picture because it was in our old house but it was a huge budget saver and looked amazing! That should be something you could do!

Everything looks so great. It was worth all your hard work. I like the shiplap and vertical boards on the hallway walls. You need your own show on HGTV instructing women how to do carpentry
