I use Amsoil myself, but i don't trust anyone who does there own test. Let an independent oil analyst company not sponsored by amsoil do this test

Thank you for your comment! Amsoil was tested by Project Farm which is a channel that reviews products independently and does not sell the products they test. Project Farm made the video because of their viewers requesting oil testing and Amsoil was included among the several oils tested. it all sounds and looks good, BUT, there was NO reference to how long the bike ran.

I use Royal Purple Fully Synthetic 20/50. In my opinion it does exactly as they claim in terms of a cooler running motor. The engine temp on my 88 Twin Cam is definitely cooler using this oil as opposed to other brands I have used. I haven’t tried Amsoil but it’s definitely worth considering.

Wow unbelievable!!!!!! Holy smokes!!!! I wonder how better it works without removing air flow from the fins , probably helps cool the temp.

I have never seen Amsoil here in the UK, so I haven’t got any skin in this game. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a test or review which puts the product in a bad light. My 2007 FLHTC runs frighteningly hot in summer slow traffic. My mitigation is always to use fully synthetic oil, I use the Harley stuff (which is controversial), fitted Love Jugs head fans, and change the engine oil more frequently.

Fuc the synthetic the Harley manual for my 2007 touring says your twin cam should be running a straight 60 wt for temps 80 degrees and above outside you will notice it knocks cuts the heat tremendously get ride of the 20w50 look in the manual see for yourself dont let them push the synthetic agenda on you 2007 road king flhr 224386 on the speedo been running sae 60wt the whole dam time

Great idea! This would be awesome, we are reaching out to someone who builds engines to see if they can do this and would be fun to put both oils to a test. We are confident that we will come out winning. Project Farm did a similar video years ago where they tested a familiar brand synthetic oil vs Amsoil and Amsoil won. So can I run 20w50 year round in Texas or should I run straight 60w in summer on an 883 evo?

Thank you for your question! Best thing to do is check your owner’s manual to see which oil your specific model/engine needs, it is possible that both weights you mentioned are compatible. The 20w-50 is tough as demonstrated in the video but we do have an SAE60. You can also go to searchforparts.com and search your specific Harley to see which oils come up. @@SearchForParts manual say's the usual 60w 80F+ but 20w50 40F+ I'm nervous to use 60w and I can buy the 20w50 near me which the 60w I'd have to purchase online so I think I'll stick to it.

⁠@@East_TX_LCR My FLHR takes 3.5 I use 2.5 20w50 synthetic & 1 qt SAE 60 synthetic as we only have 3 warm months in Pennsylvania I figure I get the hot weather covered and also will still start when it gets below 50

@@classicrider103 I did research it. It’s perfectly fine to mix viscosities, there are several oil viscosity calculators on line. That used to be a theory same as you shouldn’t mix synthetic & mineral oil but that is no longer popular theory. In fact my klotz bottles say it will mix with any synthetic or non synthetic motor oils

Best choice 60wt 20w50 just can’t handle the heat in Texas if you switch to 20w50 you’ll know how hot your engine gets compared to straight 60 and you’ll switch right back 😅 stick to what the manual recommends don’t let them push the synthetic agenda it’s all about money
