Ah yes, my favourite extremist ideology. The French

Which is the ideology of coming from an absolute monarchy to a constitutional monarchy, then a huge mess of a republic, then an empire, then briefly a constitutional monarchy, then briefly a return of the previous empire, then a return of the constitutional monarchy, then another kind of constitutional monarchy, then a republic, then an empire, then a republic, then Vichy vs free France, then two other republics, all within 200 years.

@@pacifistminigun3987 Well, look at the great depression. Now look at the current economy. Look at when capitalism became a widely accepted economic system. Now look at what people think of socialism and democracy in the workplace. Look at how black people got (mostly) equal rights. Now look at how the lgbt+ movement is fighting for equal rights. Look at what happened to the Berlin wall. Now consider what will happen if the US were to actually build a wall. Look at how the state controlled most media during WW2. Now look at how a small number of rich people control most media today. Change almost always happens the same way. We might all think we're unique but humanity is incredibly predictable. Change is the result of people reacting to their environment. Similar environment, similar reaction. This is why it's important to learn from history. It would have allowed people in the US to prevent the current great depression from happening. Instead, the same mistakes were allowed to be made. Meaning that we can expect a similar result, but a new deal won't be enough this time.

Hyperinflation happens when inflation is strong enough for long enough, so that people EXPECT money to keep losing value and preemptively raise their prices in anticipation for more inflation. Which causes the expected inflation. And the only way out is changing currency. Either create a new one (backed with something solid, Venezuela tried backing their new bolivar with oil), or use a strong foreign money like Zimbabwe did, adopting the US dollar

Let's take an example : I'm in France, with the Euro as an official currency, but what prevents me from trying to buy something with US dollars and the seller from accepting the US dollars ? All is needed for the sale to happen is for both of us to acknowledge the value of the US dollar. Having the greenlight from the currency's government might help. As long as the country doesn't try to print the currency, it should have no impact on its value.

About fascism and "mussolini makes the trains run on time", the supposed efficiency of fascism and its superiority to democratic bureaucracy was mostly propaganda with almost no basis in fact. Mussolini did indeed make the trains run on time, by gutting pretty much every other government department and using the military as labourers in order to make the trains run on time for a few months. This stunning non-achievement was then held up for years (decades actually, we're still doing it) as justification for fascist regimes. In the video, "the village looks bad and all the villagers are doing really bad" doesn't have any hidden meaning, it's very literal. Fascism sucks.

that had more to do with mussolini then with "generel inefficiency of facism", because Facism in Germany was very efficient.

@@fendobis9033 also just shut it with "im a modern day germany, i gotta know"... no you dont. If youd tell me that youre over 90 years old now and that you actually lived in that time it would be a different thing and if you actually ask honest people that served under facism regime - most will tell you it wasnt bad at all. You need to win the people to make it work. Facism didnt rise in germany by Gunpower, but because they were just very popular. Nobody was really bothered with the Anti-Semitism because throughout Europe (yes, all of europe) it was very common. People try to rewrite history and make it look like Facism is a purely Evil thing that only does harm and can only rise to power through violence and fear, but that was not the case. Not at all.

@@Drawoon come on, even if you identify as a marxist, you should not support stalinism, which is the type of communism the video referred to, but if you do support stalinism, then you are on pair with the nazis.

@@pedromeneses9617 I feel like comparing nazis with stalinism is questionable, though it is true they are both authoritarian regimes. I just feel that, apart from that, they are very different. For the record, I hate both, coz authoritarian regimes suck.

@@Mercure250 the difference between the nazis and the nazis when it comes to terrorizing people, political dissidents, basically anyone other than the staus quo was similar. In Germany there were concentration camps, in Soviet land, there were gulags (also concentration camps). People were mass murdered by their beliefs, political ideologies, socio economic status, etc... (nazis also killed by ethnicity, but that's really the biggest difference between the two regimes, one was openly racist, the other was secretly racist, because let's face it, communists at the time also shared some values of anti semitism with the nazis, because of the banking system, bourgeoise, etc...) So yeah, Stalin and Hitler first became allies (before the treason) mostly because of shared values against what was traditional western culture and liberal values.

@@Drawoon A monarch actually cares about his people. Because they are *his* people. Without them, the monarch has no power. His citizens are a valuable resource. And they get protection in exchange for their work. Communism doesn't actually care about its citizens at all. It says does, but it'll let everyone that show individuality die. Citizens are considered as tools for the state. With broken tools being discarded. Anyone aware of how communism actually works given the choice between the two systems would choose to live under a monarchy in a heartbeat.

I always thought it would be fun to have a group of people and make two groups. Communist and Capitalism and each group must follow the ideology and they have goals to meet. First to acomomplish the goals they win

@@Irwinsusername that's only accurate if you drastically misinterpret how communism is intended to work. Actually the smaller you're group and the more singular your task the better communism is going to work compared to capitalism.

@@TheEnoEtile Capatilism is also better the larger the communities are. It's why neither really works. Our societies are to large for pure Communism and to small for pure Capitalism.

Hey @Mr. Terry History he did do an experiment on being supreme leader like in North Korea and other social experiments. They are really interesting as they kinda reflect what happens in life. Like putting 100 people on a server with no rules and see how people act to each other... my 2 cents.
