GREATER MIAMI SYMPHONIC BAND is pleased to present this exciting performance of EXULTANT VISIONS. Recorded live at Maurice Gusman Concert Hall, on the University of Miami campus in Coral Gables, FL., May 9, 2023, with composer/conductor Robert Longfield on the podium. Mr. Longfield is an award-winning music educator, conductor and prolific composer and arranger of orchestral and band music, with over 500 published compositions. He also serves as GMSB Music Director.
EXULTANT VISIONS is aptly named, filled with jubilant melodies and playful motifs. The midsection of the piece centers around a plaintive theme, which quotes a 13th century plainsong (Gregorian chant) attributed to Saint Thomas Aquinas.
