Your color combinations are always so lovely. And of course your tutorials are wonderful. Your attention to detail was what nailed it for me. I am always trying to figure out how to avoid lumps, obvious joins , etc. and there you are doing all that work for me! 😊

Thank you so much! I love hearing how these tutorials help. Crochet is a "lumpy" textured craft haha, but if we can eliminate some of the unnecessary ones it makes it so much more rewarding lol. Enjoy

My skills reg crocheting and especially granny squares are very superficial and i just recently realized how important theese are in my personal development of theese skills when i consider the lack of experience i have as well as age, gender and beeeing an non native english speaker. You and a couple of other excellent english speaking teatchers have really made my crocheting days and for that im so grateful and like to thank you with all of my heart. THANK YOU!

You give the best explanations going slowly enough to be understood and to clearly see what you are doing plus the reason why you do something a certain way. Are you also a school or piano teacher because those are the techniques of an excellent teacher and most people don’t come by them instinctively. 😉👍💕 Besides showing beautiful projects!! 👌👍👏💕💕💕

Thanks so much, your kind words made my day! Not an official teacher, butI I am a lover of learning, especially crafts, music, all the arts. I must know how things work, inside out and upside down, forwards, backwards...... I guess it makes it easier to teach when you try it from all angles, with many fails along the way lol! Thanks for watching, so glad you like the tutorials

@@jspcreate I absolutely do! I’m the same way. For some reason if I understand the “why” it’s easier to understand and remember the how. And even figure out an adaptation that is easier for me.

I recommend your tutorials to all my friends who are thinking about crocheting again (after a long pause). They are worried that they don’t remember. I didn’t but I found your channel and easily picked it back up again. I think I’ll use this pattern for some hot pads for my daughter (in all cotton thread). Your use of navy and moss green is very popular (especially with Seattle Seahawks fans! lol!).

You made my day, I love that these tutorials help people pick the craft back up again!! Thanks so much. This would work great as hot pads in cotton, the colours you can try will be so much fun. I never even though that the team colours were these, very cool! Enjoy

Thanku so much fr this tutorial, i have made many of these squares , now plz tell, how to join them to make a blanket❤
@jspcreate5 ай бұрын
You are welcome 😊. You can use the Join As You Go method in one of my other video tutorials. It is slightly different though as this square does have a solid border which is different than the square I use in that tutorial. I will be making another tutorial soon using the join as you go, with this particular square for solid stitch borders. Thanks for watching.

I love all your work.. I have a silly question ..How do you wrap he yarn around your fingers (pinkie)?
@jspcreate4 ай бұрын
Thanks so much. I had to actually do the wrap to figure out what I did lol. So I wrap the yarn clockwise, one full wrap around my pinkie, then I lay it over my first three fingers. Not sure why I do this, I just always have. It creates the tension that works for me. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

How do you calculate the number of balls of yarn needed for multiple granny squares with different color arrangement in each?
@jspcreate5 ай бұрын
I make one square and weigh it on a kitchen scale so you get an accurate weight. Then I divide evenly by the colours and multiply by the number of squares I will need, since you are going to mix up the colour arrangements it is fairly safe to say they will come out somewhat even in the end. Unless you have a fav and then add in more of that colour. Also pay attention to the yardage as some balls can say 100g but the yardage is different. This is due to twist usually. Hope this helps.

A lot of ends ro weave in...why didn't you work them in as you go?
@jspcreate4 ай бұрын
I usually leave them during the tutorials to focus on the stitches themselves. and not make it to confusing for beginners, However, it does bug me, lol 🙃because I always work them in when I am making my own pieces. I may just start doing that in future tutorials though. Thanks for watching.

Do you ever use a standing DC instead of the ch 3?

I have, I believe I have heard it called a "stacked" double crochet. Planning on a tutorial for this as well. It does turn out nice.

Beautiful! Jane, are you using your lacy join stitch to join the squares? (I saw four joined on your Instagram post.)
@jspcreate4 ай бұрын
Thanks, yes I am, the picture you saw on instagram is another tutorial I am currently in editing phase of. It is a pillow top using four of these Free Spirit squares, joining using lacey join as you go. I am using it to show how to join squares that have solid stitch borders instead of the sc / ch1 borders like in the Zippy Square. The tutorial will be out within the next two weeks. I am also editing a new square, so whichever one is done first will be out next week lol.

I like to use acrylic - this one is 100% acrylic yarn. I can find it in more colours where I live.
