Azaz Syed brings forward an eyewitness account of 12 October 1999 military coup in Islamabad , Pakistan. He brings forward a detailed information about happenings of that day in Islamabad , Karachi (airport) and Lahore. Umar Cheema also brings forward the story of a gen who retired on the same date but in a different year.

جہاز کو حیدر اباد سے واپس بلایا گیا تھا جہاز کو اترنے نہیں دیا جارھا تھا سب سے پہلے ملیرکینٹ سے فوج نے ائیرپورٹ کو کنٹرول کیا تھا۔

A sad and tragic story of 12th October, 1999 narrated in a very impressive way by Azaz Syed. Democracy even too weak is better than unconstitutional set up which is miserable for a country. 27th October, 1958, March 1969, 5th July, 1977 and 12th October, 1999, we are still suffering negative affects of these days. May Allah Almighty protect us from any further tragedy of this nature in future.Ameen.

As usual an excellent informative programme. By the way I rushed to PTV and PM house when screen of TV went blank. I saw just one jeep outside the TV station and one tropp carrier outside the PM house. I did not see a single soul outside these buildings so I presume I was the first one to reach the scene of crime.
