Direct Drive advantage: Compact size and oil free, light in weight. Direct Drive disadvantage: Noise, Shorter lifespan, gets more hotter, parts not available easily, and harder to service. Belt Drive advantage: Much longer lifespan, not as noisy as direct driver motor, parts available easily and easy to service. Belt Drive disadvantage: Big size, no vertical version and heavy to move around for jobs.

Hey! I brought the same one today, i have two questions! Firstly, is there a load of bead blast ratteling in your tank? no matter hgow much shaking with the tap open and machine on it doesnt empty all out. Secondly, your extension hose, when there is no attachment fitted, can you see the bearing race? I can and it concerns me, I thought it was meant to return back, but instead I can push attachments in without pubbling back the sleeve! Warm regards :)

Hello, apologize for late reply! answers to your questions: Firstly, is there a load of bead blast rattling in your tank? Yes, I do have it too and I think it's normal. I think the rattling noise comes from rubber feet as the compressor vibrates. Can you see the bearing race? Yes, there are two type of bearings (1- Bearing with inner and outer races and a set of balls that will be seen from both sides) (2- Bearing with inner and outer races and a set of balls that are covered with a inner sleeve and you won't be able to see the balls) Second type is usually more expensive but both works exactly the same. So, nothing to worry about :) Thanks for your comments.

there's a special oil for air compressors (full synthetic) is better. But generally speaking the compressor in the video uses SAE30 non detergent oil and I believe that most compressors uses same oil.
