Short-sightedness automatically renders you ineligible to become an Air Force pilot?
@williamknox4303Ай бұрын
I'm not affiliated with the Military but I have dug into the process a lot online. This isn't for the Air Force, but in the navy academy if you have good marks and you get into the fighter program, I heard they will pay for LASIK. Now, if you get LASIK yourself then it's an instant disqualification, BUT if you get LASIK from them you are in. Which is strange since it is the same operation but I digress, also you only need to have 20/20 for training. Many Fighter Pilots wear glasses or corrective lenses once they get into their 40's. Don't give up, Bill, it's not like the 1970's anymore. Also you should also hear what CW Lemoine has to say about "making them tell you no," here is a link to his vid about it, please, watch it; kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q7t6ltScusrJaas.html

@Jake Heke Of course nobody is perfect, but you cannot use your "imperfection" as an excuse and justify killing people. This has nothing to do with perfection, it has everything to do with the truth. Being a fighter pilot you risk killing people (whether you like it or not). I'm not okay with taking that risk because i live by my own principles. Others might be okay with that and that's just fine by me. But, if you join the military you risk killing people when it comes down to it...that's just the truth.

They technically didn’t need moving sticks at all. A while back when the F-16 was getting FBW the stick didn’t move it just responded to the force applied, but pilots didn’t like that so sticks still have a little bit of freedom to move despite the fact they don’t need to at all.

Kyle K 13 seconds ago (edited) That's only because the F22/F35 Demo teams turn the engines towards the crowd on every demonstration they do. Blue Angels only do this once, and it's only on the 4 plane roll where they roll all 4 planes engines towards the crowd and go full afterburner.

During the highspeed pass at 1:26, just before pulling up into the vertical, the pilot applies further throttle and selects full afterburner. I'm impressed that the pilot had to have the throttles pulled back that much to avoid mach-1 before the climb-out.
