words cannot express how damn loud this is in person. it vibrates your chest and shakes your soul. I was a crew cheif on A10 warthogs and whenever these landed at whatever base I was at, you stopped any conversation you were having on the flightline until it was gone.

i don't think you have to hate the f35 to love the f22 😅 both are absolutely amazing aircraft, both with an important and distinguished spot in the fighter lineup, despite their visual similarities.
@gld1010
@gld1010 Ай бұрын
Look at it this way, the F22 and the other 4 gen aircraft are the chess pieces, the F22 being the best knife fighter, and the F-35 is the Chest Master keeping them all coordinated even though the F35 has 4th gen fighter agility. I like dual engine because of redundancy, notice the aircraft with the best endurance are dual engine frames. The main benefit of one engine is reduction in maintenance costs and time.

@@swingturtle421 I don't hate the F-35 at all. I just like everything about the F-22 just a little bit more especially its flatter body style. The F-35s hunchback design is what originally bothered me but, I'm slowly coming around on it. However, seeing and hearing one take off in real life, definitely moved the needle into the like column. Sick!

Here’s a list of the loudest jets i’ve ever heard. (Feel free to add/change anything) 6: A-10 (super quiet) 5: F-16 (loud but only super loud if taking off with full afterburner) 4: F-15 (very loud because of the twin engines, especially on full afterburner, buildings/houses and the ground nearby the runway are easily shook) 3: F-18 (its called the super hornet for a reason) 2: F-22 (VERY loud, use of earphones outside is virtually unavoidable and will make you uncomfortable while u watch it go) 1: F-35 (earthquaking, absolutely deafening, and will make you tbh run for cover because of how unbearably loud it gets)

@_Stormfather lol. Your gonna feel silly after you find out I'm an america soldiger. Deployed multiple times. I'm a patriot sir. The point I was makeing is its wrong to be protecting everybody at americas expense. We're not against helping out our allies we are against giveing out all our wealth all our money to everybody in the world for free meanwhile doing absolutely nothing for americans. 80% of our brouthers cannot afford a 400$ emergency! That is a horrendous financial situation. Hawaii burned to the ground they got 700 dollars gov saying it had no money to help them. 1 month later they produced 100 million dollars to give to hamas terriorists for aid I'm gaza, they admitted the money would likley be stolen by hamas but we're gonna give it anyway!! Do you see what I'm saying? What a big fu** you to americas that was. We never have money for our people or our veterans who don't even really have va bennifets trust me I know all about it. But we have 200 billion for some new war we have no business in while the country is suffering from a pandemic recovery ?! This is nuts we are being pissed on and OUR money is being taken at 37% or more and is never used to bennifet us? Our tax money was to be used for americans not everybody in the world. This is wrong and the results of this betrayal are evident in america. We look like a 3rd world country. The richest county in the world but Americans couldn't tell they live in poverty. I wonder why? Government steals 37% or more of your money and gives it to terriorists or Ukraine which is in fact the most corrupt country in the world! No sir. Our government got its priority's all backwards and it's gonna pay the price for it in years to come. We the people have had enough and so should you. America is great. Exceptional. But our government is only exceptionally criminal

The F-35 is a strike fighter. The F-22 is an air superiority fighter. You can't really compare them because they don't occupy the same roles. Yes, the F-22 can drop bombs, but only JDAMs because it lacks a targeting system to fire LGBs and other ordinance. The F-35's sensors are arguably much more modern and complete than the F-22's... Especially when it comes to detecting ground threats... Because it's primary role, like the older F-16C; is to strike ground threats. Hence the program's name... Joint Strike Fighter. Please don't make such useless comparaisons again.

I was driving on the road directly next to the airport with an F-35 taking off for the Seafair. I rolled all my windows down to see if I could hear anything. Then i started to hear something. It got louder and louder faster until it I was forced to cover my ears. After it took off everything seeemed so silent and my head was ringing. If i had to compare, id say it was louder than all 6 blue Angels. I knkw thwt sounds crazy but even im not sure how it sounds so terrifying loud. And i listen to a lot of loud music on my thousands of watt sound system and it doesnt even come close to the loudness of an F-35

I live in Daytona Bch Florida and every year for the Daytona 500 they bring in the jets 5-6 of them. Last like 6-7'yrs they been f16's the airport is directly behind the race track. And when they go to leave town the morning after the race. They all take off with in seconds of each other back to back to back to back to back. And it is so loud it literally shakes a few mile radius around the airport. And they do not mess around. They give it some throttle I've seen military land there alot of times to refuel and one time 2 came in and landed. Fueled up and left. They took off and literally went full after burner straight up it was crazy. Until they were both lol dots on the sky. It was so cool to see. It definitely gets ur blood flowing hearing and seeing this in person

@@n3v3rforgott3n9he's talking about when both are using burner in the same setting, at an airshow. I can confirm his findings. Hell, this year at EAA there were direct back to back flights of a super hornet, and then an F-35. Both single jet displays. Even being the super hornet, and having 2 engines, the 35 is quite noticeably louder on burner.

@@evangalinsky2499 you know a single engine jet would be louder right...
@evangalinsky2499
@evangalinsky2499 5 ай бұрын
@@n3v3rforgott3n9 that is not always the case. The F-16 is noticeably quieter than even the regular hornet. It depends a lot on engine size, position, and a few other factors. The 16 is pretty small and so is its engine. The 35's engine is actually quite massive in comparison, and produces something like twice the thrust, which can also be a factor in noise generation. Please read up on these things before making easily verifiable and testable statements.

The loudest airplane i ever heard, was Eurofighter Typhoon. When it was flying very slow, almost gliding (about 100m from where i was), it was loud as standing 2m from a train. When F16 flew by quite fast, it wasnt nearly as loud as Typhoon.

Was at Eagle Mountain Lake in Texas a few weeks ago. We must've been in the flight path for NAS Ft Worth because every fifteen minutes or so jets would be doing wide circles right above us. One pass an A10 and an F35 came over. Never realized how big the 35 is. The next pass was just the 35. We happened to be right in line with it and it lit it's burners to where we could see directly into the engine nozzle. Even though it was a good 3 to 4 thousand feet above us it still made our ears ring.

Fun fact: military aviators often refer to the F-35 as the “fat kid in a magic suit,” due to it’s poor maneuverability, top speed, and range and yet highly advanced computer technology relative to other gen 5 aircraft like the F-22. -edited for y'all in the replies ;)

I don't know where you base your claim that the F35 is less maneuverable or that what you say is just a lie. Did you know that the F16 pilots had to remove the bombs and auxiliary fuel tanks and only kept the air-to-air missiles? Is it possible to defeat an F35 carrying a full load of weapons in a military exercise?

@@TamLanNguyen-fd8ud Poor maneuverability relative to the F-22 which has thrust vectoring, super cruise, longer range, higher top speed, etc... Also according to my dad (who is a military aviator who flew F/A - 18 Supers, T-6's, KC-135's...among others) an F-16 would smoke an F-35 in a traditional dogfight. ALSO, NO pilot in their right mind would dogfight WITH their external tanks still on...that'd be just plain stupid

That's cause the F35 isn't meant to be a dogfighter. It's meant to snipe targets on datalink from 1000+ miles away without the enemy even knowing its there.
