F-Zero GX Custom Track: Shiftbooster

When you suck at shiftboosting so much that you make the track do it for you instead. I cut out a bunch of notches on the road at regular intervals which gives you a shiftboost when you run over them. It's too bad this game has a speed cap that causes your machine to lose all it's speed when you go above ~10300km/h otherwise I would've put automatic shiftboosters everywhere.

this track was dope. one of the ideas i wanted to see even before making tracks in FZX was something like this.

Amazingly, the devs were aware of this trick and they used it in Sand Ocean Lateral Shift. They probably didn't realize the crazy potential it had though.

I just now noticed that the final floor appears and the elevator stops. Never saw that before. Such an amazing attention to detail. Love games that do that

Now this should be the "grand idea" for a new F-Zero game that Nintendon't is looking for. A new mechanic where the track automatically shiftboosts for you, rocketing you to unimaginable speeds on the course.

The Nintendo that made this game no longer exists. This game, which requires the player to hone their skills to truly play the game as they intended, only sold 600k copies in its lifetime. Meanwhile, a life simulation game where the most intense thing you can do is buy and sell bells like the stock market sold 40 million copies.
