Just felt like making a trailer for a killer mod for one of my favorite racing games of all time. I haven't made one of these in a long time.

If your game is crashing when the track tries to load, check the setting for Depth buffer to RDRAM. Set it to FromMem. That should fix it! If not, then here's a screenshot of all my settings: imgur.com/a/QOtJncK

The draw distance is amazing. Is it playable on real hardware using a flash card? I suppose not but it would be awesome.

sorry guys my other channel is blocked for some features so i can't reply for those ones that go from this video to that channel and want support for some emulators, I''ll add a menu for disabling stuff so it will be able to run even on console and also new updates with custom machines, courses soon!!! as well as f-zero zx climax overdrive, i love how the new difficulty is in lot of tracks there btw this trailer went beyond 2000km to fast lol

the one thing from keeping this mod perfect is an option to hold down boost to really make those final stretches count, i could see a lot of strategy with an element like that, as i think the boost activation in all f zero games is way too slow, maybe GX because its more on a competitive scene, but x felt so much more free and loose to me, it feels like it needs a feature like that

So, what emulators can actually run this? It freezes when the 3D render kicks in on PC with Retroarch and Simple64. Project64 is an absolute relic and I can't even get it to recognize the right plugins. The only success I've had funny enough is running it on Retroarch on Switch, although it being a Switch the performance and stability isn't very good lol. Maybe I just have to change settings in Retroarch for PC, like turn off the LOD enhancements? Maybe they conflict with the LOD enhancements that the rom has?

Check the setting for Depth buffer to RDRAM. Make sure that it's set to FromMem. I'm 99% sure that's the problem.

is there a way to make this work on Retroarch? it crashes as soon as the race starts :(

In the Mupen64Plus-Next core, make sure to use the GlideN64 video plugin and the HLE audio plugin. Avoid ParaLLEl.

Where i can change the "audio plugin" for Mupen64Plus-Next core? (unless you mean the RSP plugin which is already set to HLE by default)

Is this mod purely visual? I’ve never played X and this looks awesome, but I would want the original gameplay to be intact for my first playthrough.

its not however it seems that as long as you dont add points to your machine the gameplay stays vanilla

man what about posting like videos from f-zero zx overdrive like the ones i'm making (I'm not too good at racing with a keyboard) i think you will have a lot of views pushing to the limits the game and maybe I'd put a new extreme difficulty... I'm also coding the mod to other custom maps or f-zero x romhacks from the community this would be a chance to make f-zero x mods have more support... at this point im the only one showcasing how the mod is in gameplays 😆

Oh man, what a coincidence! Just the other day I was thinking of doing a really fun video series with f-zero zx overdrive! Like one with made-up rules in place. Here's what I had in mind: I set the difficulty to expert, set my vehicle specs to SSS (except for energy which I'll keep on E), and try to destroy as many vehicles as I can and win 1st place on every track. I'll start small and set the kill goal to a total of 50 for each cup. It's essentially the death race mode, but on all tracks, without having to destroy them all, because I think that'd be too difficult for me to do right now... Maybe even impossible. I mean, 3 laps is a very short length to kill 29 opponents, especially on expert. After I master 50 kills, I'll raise the bar to 75 (which I'll call medium difficulty), and eventually shoot for 100 total kills (expert). So, yeah man, awesome zx overdrive gameplays are imminent! I'll shoot for this weekend to have the first video up! Btw it's understandable to not be good at racing games with a keyboard. Analog steering is essential in f-zero x imho. Do you need a controller? I might have a spare PS4 controller that you can have.

Even with the controller code balanced is a little hard to drive properly with keyboard lol I'd like to have the ps4 controller but we're too far away haha and yeah those are good ideas, at this point, i think u figured out how to play time attack and practice since I didnt have in mind modding those, but first load gp and then go to the machine and stat editor then go back and you will be able to play those modes lol that happens cuz the stat loader is not loaded properly by selecting those modes at the start haha, but yeah thats a goood idea for the channel and also when I post the demos/beta for climax and others u will have more content @@MetalJody1990

@@Seohainemods I've sent items to as far as Sweden. If your location allows mail from the US, you can have the controller. I'd like to send you a whole new computer with the controller, but that'd be way too expensive. Actually, no, I never figured out how to play time attack and practice. I rarely play those modes, but thanks for letting me know how lol. And thanks for the upcoming content opportunities!

@@Seohainemods Haha! Nah. I sent stuff to someone better. That's great! I'll check the price to send to El Salvador. I recommend a bluetooth adapter for the PS4 controller bc the USB port on it SUUUCKS, so I'll send an adapter too. Btw, about the rules of my challenge, I changed them and added some details. The tension has been ramped up a bit. The intro of the vid will explain everything. Gonna be uploading it very soon!
