How we installed a Rough Country suspension lift kit on a 1992 Ford F150. Watch "F150 Rough Country 4" to 6" Lift Kit Conversion 1992 Bronco" to see the front of the kit get changed to the 6" lift to level the truck.

Airbags probably lifted the front a bit so the original mesurement maybe off. Also depending on the oem real block it could be a 1.5" if it was swaped from a f250. Or 2.5" if from a f350. So probably 4" lift on stock un inflated front coils and f150 oem rear block

Just did this kit. I opted to leave the sway bar off...no noticeable difference in handling. I have yet to install the stabilizer. Thinking about fabricating a stronger bracket & then just welding it to the frame. That is a crazy type of mount they give you.

Thanks for this comment. I just came on here cause I didn't even know these trucks had swaybars. I just installed the leveling springs on the front of mine and I don't even have that mounting bracket for a swaybar on my 92 4wd f150. Guess I won't worry about it if there isn't a noticeable difference

The rear of the truck normally is higher in the back for weight carrying purposes , other wise with a load it be very low in the back. And the head lights be blinding on coming traffic.

Did you have to remove the old passenger axel bracket or can you install the new one over the old one ? I ask because I have a 1990 bronco and the bracket is bolted with one bolt and the rest are headless bolts that seem factory welded

I was wondering about the radious arm bushings did you leave out the plastic spacer? On the factory bracket it it suppose to go over the metal part sticking out of the hole on the back of the bracket but the rough country bracket Is thicker so it will not go over it and seat properly. Should I just leave out the plastic spacer?

Aight, so I bought the same kit for my bronco except it was a 6" and not a 4". I'm in the process of installing mine rn and I'm having trouble with the add a leaf and I came to your video for some help. I couldn't help but notice that the extra leaf was left out. Is this just a difference between the 4" and 6" kits, or is it something that you opted out of doing.
@Oldsmob4553 жыл бұрын
This truck has a 4" lift on the back and a 6" lift in the front. Someone put some different leaf springs on it that lifted the back up more prior to the kit installation.

Sorry off top my head but i was just thinking about your running hot problem with the Javelin,,, it true big C.I. amb v8 run hot, But maybe AMC motors run hot because ….and Its true AMC did put a lot of nickel in their blocks and heads? I had a friend that told me ones, that he had toke his amc heads to a machine shop, and they made note and complain to him that the head he gave had given them use a hard metal and was hard on there machine when they where plan the heads...maybe the nickel effecting heat transfer in the block ,,,,,, but at same time makes a more bullet proof block :)

How were you able to get quad shocks from rc? When I called them to do a 4 inch lift on my 94 f-150 they said they didn't offer any shocks that fit a quad setup and that i need to use only one shock per side. I don't even know if puting a single shock on a quad shock bracket would be functional

@paulstallings68044 жыл бұрын
I'll take your misspelling of "supposed" as an emphasis on the word and counter with the fact that what you said only applies to original suspension equipped from the manufacturer. The big difference is this here leveling kit does exactly what it sounds like it does. Drumroll please . . . The leveling kit levels the vehicle. They either have extra blocks in the rear leaf spring mix that shouldn't be there or where they mounted the beams on new drop brackets at 4" they should have been mounted at the 6" position
