I knew he was a good fighter for striking. I did not know that he had effective grappling too!

He wrestled in college, was a black belt in judo, and was undefeated in full contact karate in the twilight of his athletic career…almost forgot about his dominance in point karate but I digress. If the UFC had come around 40 years sooner he might have cleaned up in that too.

I'm a fan of Bill "superfoot" Wallace and channel subscriber, I'd like to ask you to post the takedowns videos back, I'm a brazilian jiu jitsu practitioner and those techniques help me beyond being very educational. Thanks!!!

He messed up his right leg while doing judo, its why he only uses his left in some videos you see.

Bill is a ok in my book. It’s nice to see a striker take some stock in grappling. And it was done back in the day! Fyi looks like Bill got some wrestling experience with what looked like a high crotch takedown.
@markmessi90203 жыл бұрын
Yeah he wrestled in middle and high school. He picked up striking after he graduated. Think about that for a second

This is beautiful & why i have never been kicked in the head.( a few times in my teens..lol) it's just a matter of allowing ones opponent to ALMOST finish their kick, and as that foot approaches the ground, moving in for the kill.......I'd like Bill to show how easy it is to slice the Femoral artery in the upper thigh region ever so close the ones groin but I guess that's another 'lesson'~!!!! :) I know, I know..this vids about 'take downs' but fighting on the street is about life & death......That's my motto~!!!!

I love (Superfoot) Wallace but wish he didn’t use such a lame ass to work with. Guy has as much personality and emotion as a rug. He had the opportunity of a lifetime to not only train with this Legend and learn all his secrets ... but also was in his instructional videos.

what if the kicker doesn't over extend the kick and lands only a shoulder's width in front of his standing leg? this joker is making a HUGE step after the kicks which is insanely stupid and dangerous
@mikaelsarian98998 жыл бұрын
+cheesemonkey1990 just what i was gonna say. once u kick fowards ALWAYS come back to the starting position like a muay thai front kick not this stupid karate kicks its stupid
@cheesemonkey19908 жыл бұрын
note how when Wallace kicks he doesn't land big like that, and in fact in his books I've read he advises landing in a smaller stance so you can keep kicking. Watch Wallace fight, he NEVER stands that wide.
@Charlitos19884 жыл бұрын
mostr street fighters do this kind kick like "pushing" instead of going back, so is valid in a street fight scenario against thugs. remember most people in the world don't train, so it's more likely that in a street fight you will actually fight someone who doesn't train.

Ha, ha... When Bill Wallace was a full contact champ, he was a fan of kicks, and he had not any knowledge about wrestling. But actually, being an old man, he has watched MMA fights and he is teaching how to defend agaist his own old techniques.

namor filus new He was a wrestler long before he began Shorin Ryu and coached wrestling at Memphis State in the 70's

namor filus new Bill wallace, began as a wrestler, trained judo in the navy then when he messed his hip up he trained karate then created the super foot system.

timothy svenson wasn't it the air force?
@timothysvenson98159 жыл бұрын
De braco Maybe, either air force or navy, I forget. I just know he injured his right leg and hip doing judo and that is why he began doing karate and kicking with his left leg.
@killersalmon43599 жыл бұрын
namor filus new Back in the early days of full-contact karate, they used to allow judo throws and Bill Wallace, because of his judo background, would clinch and throw. They eventually phased out the throws because too many fighters didn't know how to fall properly; at that point, he learned boxing punches to protect himself at close range. But before that, he mainly did judo throws.
