I think he forgot that a lot of times, F2P players need to consider crafting some of these simply due to no other options, i.e. gacha didn't put out or they weren't around for event. So there probably should have been a "copium" tier above "waste of a billet" for things that are ehhhhhh, but will still work fine as a placeholder until you pull something better. So like Prototype Archaic, Prototype Starglitter, Mappa Mare, etc. These are all still in use as they got passed down to my lower tier characters who I'd rather not sit on the rarer good stuff (aka giving your friend the Mad Catz controller to play with).

The only real use for Prototype Starglitter currently is as a fine F2P weapon for Jun Jin. She doesnt care about the passive because you will probably never use her as on field DPS but the high ER it has its a blessing just to have that ult ready to go. In the long run you will probably change it for a Favonious Lance but if you dont have enough of them its a fine choice.

Prototype amber not being at the top of the list when its nearly BiS for Kok and Baizhu is insane. Good on Barbara and Tankfei too, the weapon has mad stats for a f2p craftable catalyst.

Sapwood is a really neat option on Xinqiu. Starglitter ... listen catch is married to Xiangling and EVERY OTHER POLEARM CHARA WANTS FAV. THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH FAVS. SO I CRAFTED IT. I like Prototype Amber on Nahida for extra healing for Burgeon teams and some comfort on my aggravate teams.

R1 Snow-Tombed is FREE from the 4 torches. If you just got the chest from the room and not the ACTUAL weapon, go back. If you're just starting or in the 18-30AR range, and for some reason you want to let Razor or Xynian or even Dehya/Dori or some other claymore user carry you early game - Just put in your signature "I need help in Dragonspine" and some AR50+ will come and guide you through it. It's ok to level it to 60 or until you get something better and you won't be wasting a billet. Although beating sh1t with a Debate Club is always satisfying.

Personallu take is I'd probably would've created a 4th category called "Decent until you pulled _____ 4 star" Because of the nature of how the gacha work there really isn't a guarantee that someone will have a specific 4-star weapon and I know sometimes it feels like we take that for granted. Like how I started playing this past December and it was only 6 months later that I finally got my first copy of the Fav Sword. Same reason I don't like to dismiss weapons with "Just use the event weapon instead" because you never know exactly when someone started playing the game so recommending them an event weapon is a double-edged sword since they may not have it. You also got people who took breaks from the games and may have missed out on it. And for that "Decent until you pulled ____" category, that's where I would put weapons like the Mappa Mare, Prototype Starglitter, and maybe the Forest Regalia.

He should've make a separate one with no event weapons included, no/low refinement gacha weapon, because a lot of people really missed out event weapons and some of the craftable are like their only good choice

I used Prototype Amber Mona during the abyss cycle when geo team was strong (Wolflord 12-2-2 and lots of abyss wolves in 12-3-3).. she turned out to be a good enough healer to avoid dying from corrosion, she ccs the wolves with her ult, and she provided an okay-ish amount of hydro aura for gorou to crysta-heal-lize.. It feels nice that we have such weapon that can change a character's role in a team.. hopefully, we have more like it in the future.. (I geared Mona with proto amber and exile 4pc.. so she can heal, give energy to whole team, buff dmg, provide cc and taunt, and apply hydro) Edit: spelling.. it's --> it

Proto amber is technically baizhu BiS since no one should ever pull for his weapon. Your tankei can now be Healfei as well. BiS if you have good artifacts with ER. everyone should get a protoamber.

Fruit of Fulfillment catalyst should definitely be in the niche tier. EM passive + ER substat on a catalyst means it’s god tier for kokomi in nilou bloom. Letting me get more EM while meeting ER needs.

We got Keqing, Al Haithaim, Nilou, Ayako and Ayaka who infuse their Normals, we need more polearm characters who infuse their normals. So far is just Cyno and Candace

Everytime I bring Prototype Amber to conversation, ppl are like 'bleh' , 'ew'. I'm sorry but seeing my Nahida deal 27k dmg per tri-karma in Yae Kaz Fischl team is way better than YaoYao dealing 1k dmg with overheal that I don't really need. Yes I have Skill issue dodging 2 C.pbeast atk, but not to the point of needing YaoYao.

I think adding into account limited time event weapons into the rankings isn't that fair considering quite a lot of people don't have them

One understated benefit of protoamber is how much effective ER it gives back. At r5 depending on burst cost and ER% it can be equivalent to be 40-50% ER% Characters that use Protoamber: Mona C4 yanfei Nahida (when healing is needed) Sucrose Kokomi (as solo hydro DPS)

The struggle for ER sword and ER polearm is real. So no wonder Sapwood blade has a spot, but Prototype Starglitter definitely deserves a slot in the "must have 1 in your acc"as well, simply because the only other ER options are fav lance and the catch, which are all in high demand

ive gotten some use out of compound bow having a physical C1 fischl wearing echoes set paired with yunjin, but hamayumi just does much more dmg in this situation. the attack speed needs to be like doubled to even considering it despite its a weapon type that gets proper increase out of attack speed.

Hilariously Zhongli is a good physical carry if you give him Crescent Pike. There's videos on youtube of people giving him a physical set + R5 Crescent Pike + a team of Yae, Yunjin, and Rosaria, and he just melts everything. Due to Zhongli having some of the fastest attack animation strings in the game, the passive on Crescent Pike just becomes even more broken as well. It's genuinely ridiculous the amount of hits he can dish out in a relatively short time frame. Which also makes this build stupid levels of fun to play. Especially when the Abyss is set up to allow it to shine. If you ever want to see how insane Phys!Zhongli can get, go look up Bruiser's 34s - 1 Rotation run against the Abyss Wolf Lord from a few months back. He's using the build I described above - and while you might be tempted to say that Yae is carrying the team, it's really not the case at all as you'll see in the video. If nothing else, seeing Zhongli turn into an absolute beast with that weapon just makes me even more hyped for when a unit comes out that was specifically built to take advantage of it.

i digress in that the starglitter spear wep is good enough as an er stat stick. it has a higher er stat than fav, which i GUESS is nice for emblem 4pc effect, plus so many units want the catch. currently i have XL, raiden, yunjin, rosaria, yaoyao(?) all fighting for er weapons. so at this point its just nice to have options. definitely 1 copy of it is ok. rational is a very common team so, already, the catch and Fav lance is occupied. your 2nd abyss team, if you'll have a burst focused spear unit, can carry starglitter instead

I think the only reason this list is kinda unreliable but isn’t is because although it’s portrayed as a f2p list, it’s not really taking into account f2p options for weapons. Prototype archaic is a good craft able for characters like beidou and razor, however depending on the comp it can be outclassed. Every craftable weapon has a use and are good for f2p players, they just need more secondary stat options for these craftables

Prototype Amber is a pretty decent craftable catalyst for Barbara as her healing scales with HP and the prot amber substat *is* HP, as well as it heals the team even if you don't attack thanks to its passive Since i have yet to get a better alternative, that's what my Barbara has

i dont quite get the em sword though its usuable on 1 charakter in like a specific team wouldnt it be "very strong but nieche" like the "good f2p option" tier would be a more reasonable "everyone should have atleast one" tier

As someone who doesn't bother changing weapons nor do i have so many fav lances, prototype is just there as an ER stick for those who can use more ER and i can totally ignore crit as well. Yun Jin, Yao yao, and Mika come to mind. I disagree that it's a waste of billet. Agree that the passive is useless, never ever refine it.

I had 13 book billets (while having 0-2 of other types), I crafted r5 amber just to never use it, also no use for hakushin (my Nahida got r2 signature by accident and I don't use other catalyst users), someone pls save me from book billets, I need r5 crescent pike for Rizzly. I also have r3 Skyward Atlas, r1 memory of dust and R2 teapot which is a BIG L. Every time I pull weapon or standard I get book. I HATE BOOKS NOW!

Honestly, I like Compound Bow. It doesn't have a true home on any characters yet, but I do like it. Back in the early days of Genshin, I liked it enough that I R5'ed and leveled it to 80. Still haven't scrapped it because there is one Bow character that I occasionally unbench to fuck around with, whose Normal Attacks I leveled to 8. That character is possibly the weakest character in the game... Amber. Technically, Fischl is a better Compound Bow user, but I do not like Fischl. Amber on the other, I do like, and thus she gets Compound Bow. I also have a pretty cracked Physical set, so that makes it a little less shitty to run around with her. That being said... her supports usually end up doing more damage than her. But... that's just how the cookie crumbles I guess.

I have like more than 10 of each in my inventory (except black ones). The thing is that some of these are good but not good enough. There is like always a better 4 star alternative from the gacha or you get something from event. So there is really no need for end game players to craft these, its perfectly fine to do so if you are low AR and have nothing. I stopped crafting since Inazuma came (the only thing i crafted in inazuma was amenoma and lvled to 90 cuz it looked cool, i never even used it lmao and i dont even have the blueprints for the rest). And I was disappointed by sumeru weapons (also evident from the list in which 4 out of 5 are waste of billet). So I never even checked what fontaine ones do. The only craftable that I used for the longest time was Iron sting, cuz we didn't had much 4 star options to begin with in 1.6 for kazuha. Now I just run him on R3 xiphos, i have heard that R5 is better than his signature apparently so will go for its refinements. As for very early 1.0 weapon that i crafted and used was prototype aminus (now archaic, cuz name changed) on Diluc. But that also went in dust as I later got Wolf's gravestone pretty early on. So i never truly used craftables except Iron sting.

As someone who has a new f2p account, all this says to me is to not pull for Eula. And I did because I don't have her in my main account. And it hurts my brain on thinking about which f2p weapon to use for her lol.

How is Prototype Rancour a waste of a billet if it has the same passive as Whiteblind though? It's waiting for a ATK/DEF scaling physical sword user, so it should be niche.

No. I mean the top weapon is good on bennet as a 4 star craftable and definetly the best for that. but the passive is bad, nobody is going to take the time in abyss to pick up the drop it creates taking 2 seconds off their wombo combo time. It's really only good for the attack, but using the passive will take time off your rotation that you need as bennet ult is time sensitive.

Dori Hyperbloom (especially the C6 varient) is a fun and wild comp to play, but I'm pretty sure Katsuragi isn't the weapon for that. It's got Kitain's passive but not the EM. OH could be good for Dehya? IIRC these passive work off field.
