i feel like a lot of the exploration units like wanderer should be a little higher, looking from a meta perspective they’re not great but new accounts involve a lot of running around unlocking waypoints and exploration so having a unit that’s specialized in that is pretty nice (especially xianyun and wanderer for liyue 💀)

His chat is actually braindead questioning his take on Yelan > Furina for new accounts. Do people think Furina on an account without team healers or any healers at all besides Barbara is going to be a good time?

Yelan, Nahida and Neuvillet listed under section titled "must pull". Guys, Zajef has said it, these character are "must pulls".

Guys remember this is a SUBJECTIVE tier list. It's what he'd want. Some of these placements are absolute SHIT, but that's fine cuz you can't change how he feels about that character.

My first 5star was Nilou in 3.1, then got Nahida right after in about 20 pulls. I didn't understand how fucking lucky I was. I was disappointed I didn't get that cool Diluc character, I was told I could get him there. Then I ended up using the team "Nilou Nahida Fischl Bennett" until like AR55 lmao. My friends told me to use only Dendro and Hydro characters but I thought it was trash cuz I was damaging myself.

I started to play october and I think the only reason why I still play Genshin is that Neuvillette is so comfortable to play.

I do not understand people thinking Furina is a must pull. She's a dead character for a new account. She needs ER to use her burst, which means with early game artifacts, she's just going to be halving your teams HP for little benefit. She's a character that has some account prerequisites before she becomes a powerhouse. Yelan and Xingqui are just objectively better until you have a healer and a way to charge her burst consistently. Like, yeah, Barbara is free, but Barbara is also BAD. She generates no energy so she's basically dead weight in getting her OR Furinas burst back. I'd say Furina is absolutely not worth it until you have at least a compatible healer + a Fav Sword on your account.

Xingqiu have a huge problem, he cant recharge properly if you dont have Fav or Sac R3 until C6, that would limit him a lot in which teams he would work, also i help some friends that are starting the game, and im going to say something: every account that does not have Fischl feels behind. In worst case scenario she is a flex tape.

Super interesting content, helping us to look at units in another way than META. And the use case is actually very relevant, which actually helps us to figure out our own way of building our account alongside all those META considerations. Obviously going for units we like is best, but how do you even know when you never played them (test run is not enough tbh), and once you get to 1-2 events that show you how great some units are, their banner are way gone already… you can always wait, but his considerations are great for the waiting phase!!!

Then i started back at 1.0, my 1st 5* was Zhongli. and thank Kami it was him, game became so much better.

Neuv is the closest thing to a must pull for a new account. He’s worth 4 units in the abyss, his best set is also the best/most flexible set in the game even at end game, and his best F2P weapon is a craftable. Supports still need other units to support, Neuv does it by himself. 🧠

If this list is for a new account isnt overworld a huge factor to consider. I cant imagine all the exploration furina trivializes for a fresh account.

I think ganyu is better then you put it, sure she isnt the best but her BIS (for melt) is an artifact set from bosses so you can passively farm it. In addition her ascension materials are quite easy so it trivializes early game, either that or im on hard copium as she was my first 5 star (ganyu baizhu banner) and im seeing through rose-tinted glasses

Zajef has literally no idea about Nilou and it always shows when he thinks there is an ocean of difference between Nahida on the team or not. There is a difference, especially in ease of play, but it's not as big as he thinks it is. We have f2p Nilou completing every abyss easily. That said she's not a high priority for a new player, as a new player will mostly be exploring the world and going through story. You don't need that much power for that, so mobility would be far more important. Like Yelan, Kazuha, Xianyun, Furina, Ayaka, Sayu, Kirara, Lynette, and Neuvilette (him sliding up hills, also because he's a self-sustained damage monster). Maybe Nahida for collecting flowers and matbe Zhongli for shield. Nilou is for mid-adventure or beyond players struggling with abyss.

Maybe misguided, but nilou has a full team of guaranteed 4*s that functions well without nahida. I feel like the primo efficiency wasn't touched on. Maybe your point about abyss floors that dont work for her outweighs this.

I must be weird bc I love using a bow. Tighnari is my favorite character so charged attacking is fine for me. So I should get Lyney his next rerun.

Ngl wanderer must pool his pure exploration potential is actually insane… u can fly, it makes puzzles and exploring so much more fun even though he may not be the best fornspiral abyss. No other character can honestly compete for his exploration other than xianyun (not yelan all she does is let u run fast, not climb or go over gaps)

Furina is insane in the overworld though. Healing on demand, can walk across water, does lots of off field damage without much skill involved.

I started last summer, playing casually. Neuvi banner was the first I pulled on. Couldn't have asked for a better one. Love the comfortable play so much that I neglected to build Keqing, who I got from losing the 50-50. Tried for Furina, but lost 50-50 to Keqing again. Heard Raiden and Nahida were coming up, so used the pity+guarantee to get Raiden. Won 50-50 for Nahida. Got little clue who to save for next now. Still really want Furina. I haven't invested in my Rational team enough to do Floor 12, and am convinced that a hyperbloom team with EM Raiden would be better. Neuvi team having no problems. I feel resin starved enough from leveling new characters to put off artifact farming, so I want characters that don't need endless resin dumped into artifacts to be good. EM builds seem easier to get, so Alhaitham kind of stands out, but still not sure. I'm at AR55 with 426 lifetime pulls, with tons of content left to do, as I haven't been rushing/grinding. Got Dehya and a Skyward spine from standard banner pity.

As a Klee main, I can respect the comment on her and the placement. I enjoyed the character for bombings but Nahida, Furina, and Kazuha really makes team comps with her better.

Razor is good for a new account at low level. Exploration passive, heavy strikes, knock back, nothing is immune to physical… these are all useful qualities in early game

I'm curious on what is the context of this ranking besides the 'For a new account' title. Basically, a lot of new account experience is going to be overworld and yet I am seeing him dismiss plenty of characters there that have so much value in that regard.

He needs to add another tier above all the tiers and call it the wanderer tier

If you're not a new player, but you're running a new account then sure you can pass on Zhongli which I did. However, as a new player and as the first 5* on my account, Zhongli was the comfiest pull by a mile.

I'd disagree with Wanderer, dude's a SSSS GOD-TIER++ in EXPLORATION, in which any new player would absolutely love. Edit: Genshin players don't read... Wanderer DOESN'T need Faruzan for overworld, C6 or pre-C6 she doesn't matter, you're exploring and clearing puzzles...

For exploration I love Ganyu. I really dont care about perfect MOC clears, most of my gameplay time in Genshin is exploration and having a freeze archer for exploration feels SO GREAT.

Bro forget put exploration capability for newbie/new account. Xianyun and wanderer deserve better I think, I'll put wanderer to "would dislike on a banner" because he good for exploration kinda needed it for new account but hard to build And lastly I'll put xianyun on the top, she make exploration more enjoyable, and she is a support so not hard to build her

I think sucros and rozaria should be above as u cant bue them. But if u buy the rest sucros tazzer/agrevate/hyper bloom all can be done by the starters and buyabe/ free 4* s and kaya rozaria xl beny melt comp is pretty awsom on abyss and u put sucros on team 2 and play ther rest of the team that is no national

The biggest problem with this list is that it doesnt account for unit's exploration and farming potential. Both Yelan and Kazuha go up a tier, as well as any unit that has any mobility, but more importantly Zhongli skyrockets to the top as well. I honestly cant imagine farming domains and bosses early on without him, and he gives you the best way to farm ore which you will be doing at the start of the game a lot. I would also bump a lot of pyro units up a tier solely due to how crucial pyro is for exploration.

Basically this list only applies to your first few pulls, after which time your account is no longer 'new' and this list becomes less and less relevant.

Yeah, Kazuha just falls off for me. The only teamcomp that I still used him is in Freeze comp with Ganyu/Layla/Mona. And the last time I brought him to the abyss was against the Hydro Tulpa because I was using a mono Pyro with Benett/XL/Yanfei.

I’d say Furina in the « would pull no matter what » because Noelle exists and is free real estate . Noelle with Furina , geo MC and a flex spot or benny/Xq if you buy them .

Wanderer so low? I started playing on my AR 10 account once I had Xianyun, Furina and Wanderer and I'm zooming through the map.

Both Yelan and Kazuha are end-game characters. They have the longest "wait time" until you can ascend them properly: you need to unlock Inazuma and Chasm, which cannot be done until AR 30. In general, wouldn't even call them "must-pull" for the new account, I rather consider them a nice addition for well-established account. Particularly Yelan: I'm not sure how exactly you are going to use her to win multiple required battles against the abyss herald, before you can even get to Inazuma, not to mention you also need to unlock the Chasm to ascend her. Nahida is nice, but you really need other characters for her to work. Xingqui and Kuki are bare minimum for hyperbloom (and this is the only reaction you can really use against the most annoying enemies which jump and teleport randomly all the time). She is also really squishy. Basically, opt for Nahida when you already have the team to unleash her potential. She is not that great by herself. And no, Furina is definitely better pull than Yelan for a new account, because she does not have this annoying condition on her abilities (Yelan require you to use basic attacks which is the weakest kind of attack in the game). Furina can be a bit annoying with her HP-drain mechanic, and she still can't do anything to abyss herald, but she at least can be your healer, and a good one too, because she does not require you to stay in narrow circle to heal. And you can ascend her no problem at any stage of the game, unlike Yelan.

New acnt means no access to inazuma. I think that should be comsidered

For a new acc characters for adventuring is the most important Getting oculus for stamina, collecting flowers and rocks, speed solving puzzles and challenges is majority of early game until you artifact farm at ar 50. I don't want to have amber in the party every time there is a pyro puzzle or traveling through dragonspine

Ayaka will much more better than liney's teirlist. U move fast u can start up a ealy freeze / hyper freeze / melt ayaka comp with startars charater mc and the free characters in early abyss. As a new player versatility is key. With free xl i can play a shit melt ayaka but its someting. I can freeze ocinide to build xq and barbara , i. Can farm beth and electro cube ezly with ayaka. I can farm emblem deep wood and guilded with her there r the only woth farming early game as for new player gettin 2 atk set is huge.

Okay guys, lets lay some ground rules: no 5-stars. I mean you can't seriously expect to get a 5-star in early game. So, 4-stars only. The second point is, you need to avoid Inazuma characters, because you can't level them properly in early game. You CAN use them, but they will be at least 1 ascension lower than the others. And finally, no high constellations. You can consider getting C1, but that's about it. There is simply not enough wishes in early game to go for constellations. You can't expect to get C4 or C6 even for 4-star at this stage in the game. So considering all this, the most valuable character for me in early game would probably be Faruzan or Sucrose. Or Heizo, even though he is from Inazuma. I heavily rely on Xiangling too, but I can get her from the 3rd floor of the Abyss, so there is no variables here, you just get her anyway.

New accounts won't be waiting for these banners to appear so they can pull 😭 u gonna need a good dps/sub dps to carry u early on then u can just plan ur pulls to wish on whoever u want, also don't underestimate how fine the starter characters are+ the free ones (especially xiangling for clearing stuff, lynette for exploration..) so these lists are kinda pointless imo

Xianyun is questionable, if her banner does not contain Gaming or the banner after hers do not feature Xiao for a while, I don’t see any reason to ever go for her Keep in mind to do the vape plunge dps thing, both Furina and C6 Bennet are must, and even then, the team can get easily cucked by multiwave content or enemies that are not fiddlesticks which stand perfectly still in or near Bennet’s burst, haha funny dmg is not good dmg Keep in mind current abyss floors are literally tailor made for Xiao or plunge playstyle as enemies spawn close to each other, does not get scattered from plunges, and they don’t teleport or stand perfectly still

Must pulls on any account are: Nahida, Neuvillette, Yelan, Kazuha, Raiden*, Zhongli**. Must pulls ONLY if you're fine with getting the featured 5*: Xiangling, Bennett, Xingqiu, Sucrose, Fischl, Shinobu, Yaoyao, Diona, Gaming***. *Raiden is a must pull, but only if your account doesn't have Kuki Shinobu. If you do, her value drops significantly. **Mobile players only. They already have it rough, might as well have a character that makes the game easier. ***Proven as an objectively good pyro dps. He does NOT need Xianyun, national is enough. Extra: Units like Scaramouche, Xianyun and Yelan are must pulls if you plan on doing tons of exploration. Yelan + Lynette is fast and allows stamina regeneration to 100%. As a special mention, Furina can walk on water forever.

whats more crazy is not even between yelan or furina, but between ganyu and lyney when lyney NEEDS bennett for newer players since not using them together is a pain in the ass (his hp drain is scary for newer accounts) especially in overworld, while ganyu is easier to play in overworld solo, and still clears lower floor with just cheap supports like kaeya, barbara, and xiangling.

This would have been more useful if it was more general for a new player. You mostly went with what you personally want ("played national too much"), which isn't useful for a new player. To be clear, I'm not dissing the video. More like suggesting a more useful video for content. "If started today, knowing 4 stars are tough to get constellations, here is what you should focus on."

Neuvilette = easy mode (C1 super easy mode) Easy to build with the Mare artifact set. Also lore correctly he should be the strongest unit anyways.

Not sure I understand the logic that Nilou is riskier then other characters to pull for. Zajef assumes her worst case scenario then holds her up to a high standard, but sort of doesn’t do that for other units. You try navia with no Furina and c0 Bennet/xiangling and gmc. You try haithem spread with no Nahida c0 fischl. It seems like only Nilou gets the doompost treatment. Even the “get a lucky four star” concept works in her favor as she does like her Yao Yao and Collei cons. But at a baseline she’s able to clear abyss no matter how much he dislikes no Nahida comps, and she only gets better with random dendro/hydro five stars.
