Here are the accessories, options, and luggage that I have added to my 2022 BMW F850GS to go on a 2700-mile backroad motorcycle adventure.
I rode through water, gravel, mud, clay, dirt, sand, and pretty much every other imaginable surface during this trip. I wanted to be as light as possible and have the right protection for riding on some tricky off-road sections.
Let me know if you have any questions, like and subscribe.

Enjoy the videos! How did the Dunlop tires against punctures?
@MotoTravelUSA

Thanks 👍. I've had three sets of trailmax mission tires, all have ridden over many types of terrain, including sharp rocky trails, and never had a puncture or any other issues for that matter🤞🤞🤞🤞 they are a heavy tire and seem really tough.

Hey there, great video. Just curious, the Top plate you have under your 8L mosko moto stinger bag, what brand is that/where did you get it ??

Thanks! It's the sw motech adventure plate which is made for many bikes. It's great because it has many attachment points and adapters to hold different brands of top cases. I highly recommend it.

@mototravelusa what thread pattern did you order for the RAM Balls to fit the bikes stock mirror base? . Great vids on a really cool rig. I’ve got the Rallye Blue on order but starting to grab parts for the build. Love the vids of this bike as not many channels have one.

Thanks! I ordered direct from double take mirrors and they put a package together specific for the 850... Enjoy your new bike when it comes in! 👍

OK, quick update. From my research the Ram Balls that thread in should be M10x1.25 or M10x1.5 pitch. I just ordered a set of M10x1.25’s but will confirm. Thanks again for the great content. Can’t wait to see more the new beast out there!

Would you mind doing a video on mounting the Zumo gps? Did you keep the stock windscreen? If you don’t want to do a video, can you list your parts for the mounting?

I will try, but here's what I did. Used BMW part 83300413585 to connect to the bike. I used a generic mount for the f850gs from Amazon, but had to remove the adjustable windscreen mechanism and use the 19-20 non adjustable windscreen mount. I do believe that BMW makes a gps Mount that will fit with the adjustable mechanism. I used the mount adapter from motopumps to connect the GPS to the mount. Hope that helps a bit. I'll try to put a video together to show how I did it. Thanks for watching and the suggestion. ,👍

I noticed you are not using the Madstad side deflector you had on your previous bike. Is there a reason why? I was thinking on adding the side deflectors to my stock windshield.

Good eye. I just haven't gotten around to putting those on yet, plus with it being summer and hot in FL I thought I'd wait maybe until the fall to put them on. Thanks for watching.

Did you do anything with the rear shock . Upgrade my 1200GS big different particularly with luggage.

No not yet. I'd love the touratech/tractive shock. However, the stock has performed pretty good for me so far

What is the route you took? Are you able to share it? Thank you

I'll definitely try, lots of data, but the short answer is east side of the CPAAT to MABDR, finished MABDR TO fancy Gap to ride some dirt routes, then SEAT connector to Pisgah National Forest and rode forest roads there, then SEAT back to Florida.

Why *replace* so many stock parts? I've ridden my F800GS for 10 years now and I haven't change a single lever or pad, just added some crash bars and skid plate of course...
@MotoTravelUSA
@MotoTravelUSA 2 жыл бұрын
Valid question with long answers, but I'll try to be brief- stock brake too low for standing off-road. Getting adjustability in front fork is like a different bike. Stock Shifter length too short for off road boot. Zumo xt much more reliable than nav vi, that's really the only OEM parts replaced. Thanks for watching.

@@MotoTravelUSA really nice setup, one change that I did and is inexpensive and doesn’t add more weight is the foot peg, the tractive upgrade is a game changer on this bike… bmw stock suspension is very basic
