The FA Cup will no longer have replays from the first round proper with fixtures now set to be played exclusively on weekends.
The FA and the Premier League revealed they have reached a new agreement starting from next season for a minimum of six years to "strengthen" the competition with "new and exclusive calendar windows".
As part of the changes, the competition will be played without replays from the first round proper which has been agreed "in light of changes to the calendar driven by the expanded UEFA competitions".
The FA had already ditched replays from the fifth round onwards.

If they want to scrap replays then have lower league clubs play at home if playing a club in a higher division

They need both: - 1 game for home advantage - 1 away game for money due to the revenue share as the bigger clubs usually have bigger stadiums

Scrapping the replays without a solid way to compensate lower league and non-pro teams (other than just adding money to propaganda, which the FA support to grassroots is) is scummy to say the least.

If you qualify for Europe: Then you shouldn't enter the league cup, keep the replys in FA cup and maybe give teams in Europe option to not enter FA cup simple.

All Clubs from League 1 downwards should just boycott it by not filling out the entry forms and just let the FA Cup have 44 teams in it and see how the FA would like that!

4.24 - howbmany non league clubs got a replay at an EFL club? This is also massively significant for their finances

Personally id keep them. Football is amazing sport and it feels like we are trying to fix something that wasnt broken. Like my other comment. Most clubs make very little profit or infact a loss.. thr vast money generated in football goes directly to players... Sit around a table and discuss wages cuts to allow less games. Simple!

Just add prize money for lower league clubs that go further in the cups and be done, fixture congestion is ridiculous and no one wants to hurt their UCL or PL chances cause they have to play reading with Andy Caroll injuring players on purpose twice

How is this a bad idea? Replays are outdated and don't effect any teams if anything it helps premier league teams with the stuffed calendar and lower league team getting more upsets since its more probable to defeat a premier league team through penalties than a second game

The response to this by clubs and fans is hot air. Non EPL clubs should refuse to participate, but they won’t. Fans of non EPL clubs should stop subsidising the EPL and cancel their Sky and BT subscriptions, but they won’t. So cowardly clubs and spineless fans should stop bleating, and start to use the power they have.

. We talk about the care of players and profit for share holders...but Virtually all football owners/shareholders make no money! The vast majority of money goes to players... so simple fix, Arrange a wage cut percent in correlation to fixtures. Sorry but it's players greed that pushes the increase in games. Ever increasing demands for bigger wages and bonuses force clubs to search for bigger venue streams.

As they should be, utterly ridiculous that they didn't even get a say in it! "An agreement between the FA and the Premier League" says all you need to know, Modern Football is more than happy to leave the EFL behind, someone or something needs to step in to knock them down a peg or few. Independent Regulator. Salary Caps. Split the Cash more evenly. Get all these things in and sort out these clowns controlling everything!

I agree.... However it's going to be difficult to fix. Escalating costs in football ( mainly players wages) won't go... I can't see ANY player excepting a cut, moan about too many games yes, reduce their salaries to help no.... Secondly, rules only work if EVERY team follows them. The English league introduces salary caps, all players will leave for Spain, Italy, middle easy etc.

Replays should be scrapped Fa cup should be knockout tournament with no second chances. Also there shouldn't be any home or away advantage in the fa cup. It should be played in random stadiums

Let the premier league go , and all of the other clubs need to come together ,the fans need to boycott watching the champions league it is boring anyway .The most exciting league is the championship let that be the top league ,a level playing field , no need for ffp , there are more fans in all of the other clubs ,so the tv people need to beware ,of ignoring the majority.

100% agree. Get rid of the plastic sports franchise PL and its plastic sports franchise clubs from the Cup and let REAL football take its place. When will fans of Liverpool Man U Man C Arsenal Spurs Chelsea WAKE UP and realise how FAKE their clubs have become and how plastic they and the PL are ? Thinking of how fake and plastic the PL is, I now actually LOVE VAR-it's what the PL and its phoniness deserve !

Why should the “scum six” subsidise the unsustainable pyramid and hand money over to the badly run clubs in the EFL? Umpteen EFL clubs have gone into administration, but expect to be bailed out by everyone else. The Victorian era pyramid is obsolete.
