Fed will raise his game against berdych, his ego is much too big to stomach the thought of losing to Berdych, and the Federer of 2018 is much better (amazingly) than the Federer that Berdych beat in 2010 Wimbledon. But I like Berdych and hate Federer's arrogant/strutting body language even if he's earn to right to act superior because he is of course at tennis, so yea hope Berdych can cause the upset.
@qubitz5906
@qubitz5906 6 жыл бұрын
@ G P Don't be he'll raise his game against Berdych, its why he's a multiple grand slam champion he raises his level when he needs to most. For me personally though i hope Berdych can somehow do it because I think the game needs diversity of winners, becuase while i can appreciate watching Federer is like watching beautiful art being creating and he's very aesthetically pleasing to watch, its nevertheless boring that others players so seldom even get to the final, and in Berdych's case he really deserves to reach another final. This may be the one/first occasion where people of a more neutral persuation are hoping for a Berdych win.

You gotta respect Berdych. He is really a pro. Maybe not so likeable, but consistent and professional.
@qubitz5906
@qubitz5906 6 жыл бұрын
@ grisen gaflen He's likeable these days - he had a picture of djokovic on his shoes when djokovic was out injured as a tribute to him, he's consistantly said he's glad Del Potro been able to come back on the tour after the injury hell he went through, after Federer destroyed him at aus open last year, rather than being bitter or desperate to get revenge (as federer might have been if was the reverse), instead he gave him utmost praise and said what he's doing is just unbelievably impressive. Your image of him as unlikeable is based enitrely on pre -2016 Tomas Berdych surely becuase these last couple of years he's been a true gentleman. If not then i'm interested to here why you still think he's unlikeable.

Alpha this isn't 2017 Federer either, not playing as freely, not hitting his groundstrokes as well. And this isn't 2017 Berdych, he's playing more freely, timing his groundstrokes perfectly and he's serving bombs.

@ Michael Lu I'd love that too, most people want a repeat of nadal vs federer of course because of the quality and their rivalry, but Dimitrov vs Berdych would also be full of quality, and when was the last time you had a GS final that had to be won by someone other than Federer, Nadal or Djokovic?! - i'm guessing about 2003! So it would be a refreshing change, surely even fedal fans can appreciate that, and based on current form you can't deny Berdych and Dimitrov deserve it.

@qubitz 2014 AO - Stanimal, beating the No1 and No2 at the time en route. 2015 FO - Stanimal, beating the No1 and No2 at the time en route. 2016 USO - Stanimal, beating the No2 at the time en route... This exceptional player is often overlooked. And he is such a nice guy.
@qubitz5906

@Vladimir Stanescu On all those occasions stanimal beat Djokovic, so Djokovic could have won. My Point was when was the last time neither Federer, Nadal or Djokovic was in the final of a grand slam? Apart from Murray vs Raonic in Wimbledon 2016, I think you have to go back to Australian Open 2005 for Safin vs Hewitt. Thats my point. I agree Stan is a lovely guy who isn't obsessed with proving himself everyday like Federer, and also takes defeat with good perspective unlike Federer and Nadal who look like they want to commit suicide whenever they loose, so yea i like Stan he's refreshingly different from the other insane perfectionists at the top of the mens game.
@vladimirstanescu6616
@vladimirstanescu6616 6 жыл бұрын
@ qubitz In my opinion, neither Novak, Rafa or Fed could have beaten THAT Stan. Remember one thing: besides beating Fed and Nole at the 2015 FO, Stan beat Monfils and Tsonga in spite of an insanely hostile crowd (what is wrong with these French ?). They booed his winners and applauded his unforced errors. And every time they did that, Stan just played BETTER. In his "pyjama shorts". Respect !

I remember Tomas had Roger, down and out, in Miami, last year. He had that match "won". But, Roger was able to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat because, like Caroline Wozniacki the other night, old veterans can focus and execute when the chips are down. Berdych can beat, anyone. He's that dangerous. He's that strong. He can beat anyone BUT Rafa and Roger. Unfortunately, these guys are inside his head, now. It's a mental thing with Tomas. Tomas reminds me of Ivan Lendl, back in the day. Win a ton of matches and money but nobody can remember their names.
@qubitz5906
@qubitz5906 6 жыл бұрын
Lendl had 119 wins vs top 10 opponents, Berdych has 53 - big difference. 53 wins is still impressive but it proves Berdych's tendency is to chocke - he lacks Lendls ruthlessness.

I want Berdych to beat Federer, but i don't think he can. I think he can definately beat Nadal becuase of Nadal's slow pace of play, but Berdych doesn't perform well against players who rush him, and Federer is that expert at doing that. After he destroyed him last year Berdych said he didn't feel in control of any point becuase Federer is both so accurate AND plays so fast, and he also runs faster from side to side than Berdych. So, unfortunately i don't think Berdych has the physical endurance or the return ability to stop federer getting free points from aces, which conserves more energy for Federer, to beat him. I really hope I'm wrong!
