In this video I am going to make fabric paint extreme water test. I often get comments like : What about washing such handpainted clothes? Won't paint get off? What if you get under the rain? An this is the biggest myth in painting on clothes - that fabric paint will get off after washing .
In this video I will try to bust this myth and do something I have never done before .Painting my swimsuit and swiming in it. And let see will fabric paint survive on a nylon fabric in a sea water or no.

Used denim and used liquitex and mixed it with acrylic for jacket. What about bikini swimsuits. For pool as well. Thanks! Lovely design!

Thank you for this video. I am trying to find best paints for rhythmic gymnastics leotards. I tried a couple of the Pebeo shimmer opaque but found the gold and silver colours not with good sparkle/cover after only 2 layers. Have you tried any of the glitter liners at all? Looking to try them and wondering which brand is best.

@@Dariacreative I do a lot of weird scary creatures sketches but when I tried them on shirts it so way different , I didn t used setacolor on them yet but I really wanna know if it is okay to mix setacolor with water to give that watercolor effects on my sketches on the shirts but I checked your video abt this watercolor thing and I saw that the paint spread on the tissue ( + my shirt is 100 % cotton) so now I m very confused if I should paint my sketches or just use the paint with the water color effect in the background :/ what do you suggest ? @@mehdiben4186 I would recommend to create watercolor effect background. Because it's not easy to create clear image on fabric using watercolor technique and this technique is more appropriate for abstract designs. But you can always create watercolor background for your creatures . Its easy and will look very beautiful

I used Pebeo fabric paints

@@jemiladakey1817 its a french brand and I think you can find it in uk. They are very good quality buy don't buy their black opaque (its a bit problematic) but buy black color for light fabrics instead

Also do you wet your brush with water or go straight in with paint?

It depends on how fresh my paint is :) in this video its a new can of paint so its pretty liquid and I don't need extra water. But with time paint will get dry a bit so I will use a bit water.

For canvas shoes - fabric paints. For leather shoes - paints for leather :)

hi, ur videos are really helpful! i really appreciate them. im looking into fabric paints and im wondering, does the fabric get, like, crusty at all?

Hi! Yes it gets crusty if you apply many layers of paint. But there are ways to avoid that : do not use too much paint and apply thin layers. Water down paint a bit if its not liquid enough. Or Pebeo for example produce fabric paints for light clothes which are softer as they don't have same good coverage as opaque colors for dark clothes.

Unrelated to the video, but i was wondering *is it ok to mix glitter with fabric paint?* Will this ruin how it adheres to the fabric and is it still good to iron? Appreciate your feedback 🥺🙏

There are fabric paints with glitter you can find on the market. For example Pebeo has such paints. So I guess you can also mix glitter with fabric paint .It shouldn't effect the quality of paint

Yes I did :) But actually I think that nowadays with all these KZfaq tutorials ans inspiration around you don't need art school to become a great artist. You only need a lot of practice and patience:)

I would really like to see if this holds up in a hot tub, that would be the ultimate test! I'm thinking about painting one of my swimsuits and I know it's going to end up in a hot tub.

😁 not sure about hot tube. You can wash clothes painted with fabric paints on max 40 C.
