This is exactly what I was planning on making. I love my store bought but I prefer to just fold copy paper in half so I need to make my own size. I also love the fact that with 2 attached elastics and 2 extras you can easily attach 6 books without any trouble. Since I love my books nice and fat, that is a huge advantage for me. Great work. Nice to know what I am planning will work.

Ms. Lolly I've researched and viewed KZfaq videos for TN Faux Dori & Faux Bonichi type of covers for the past 2-3yrs. Your video is by far the most effective, simplistic, easy to understand and follow step by step (minus the sewing) video I've every come across. It's great to see you didn't sacrifice function or creativity. Thank you so much, love your concept. Excited to see and learn from the rest of your content. So cute! I love it. ♥️ I may give it a try. So far I’ve only made notebooks. One thing I now do is measure mine in metric. Much easier to do as midori notebooks are 11cm x 22xm. No more fractions to deal with. An added bonus for us internationally is that an A4 sheet of paper folded in half is automatically the 22cm measurement. Only the 11cm cut is required. 😊
@LollyPalooza
@LollyPalooza 6 жыл бұрын
I used to offer measurements in both cm and inches, and I quit because all I was doing was searching online to convert the measurements, which anyone can do. It does seem though that most TN sizes were originally in metric, due to Midori brand. Thanks for watching!

In love 😍 with the result!! Thank you so much for sharing!! New subbie here 🙋🏻‍♀️ Question? Will the new hot press from cricut easypress make the process quicker instead of using the iron??

Great idea! Can I replace the fabric stabiliser with some thick felt and sew it together because I can’t seem to find any at my local stores.
@LollyPalooza
@LollyPalooza 3 жыл бұрын
you can use thin stabilizer, too -- to adhere felt -- I would use wool felt, though, so that it can be ironed.

does the the fusible attach both sides? did you iron the both fabrics on each side?
@LollyPalooza

Yes, the fusible irons onto both fabrics, so yes, I ironed on both sides. :)

I love this video! This is what I plan to give for Christmas gifts! I can't wait to get started! Hope the measures I took in my notes are correct! Are they already written somewhere? I have tons of fabric and found the pellon at Joanns

I did 8.75 X 10.5, but it depends on the size of the paper inserts you will be using. There are so many sizes to choose from.

Hello I love your videos. They're really helpful. Do you notice some fabric fraying at the edges after using it for a while? Do you think that using fray check would work?
@LollyPalooza
@LollyPalooza 5 жыл бұрын
Yes, they do fray a bit, and you could use some sort of sealant if you wish.

great video, my problem is when i use the eyelets, especially if they do not have the washer to go with them, they always crack and split in the back leaving sharp edges. I've tried a few brands of eyelets but all seems to be the same. I know there is a trick on the pressure but it seems like the eyelets go from "nope not gonna close" to "bam! i'm going to split now" So very frustrating. I've tried both my handheld c-a-d and the c-a-d big bite
@LollyPalooza
@LollyPalooza 5 жыл бұрын
yes, I have more of the tiny eyelets split than the larger ones. I have turned them over (split side up) and tapped with a hammer a couple of times, and it makes sure there are no rough edges.

Ms Lolly, do you have to sew around the edges? I don't sew but i love using material on repurposed books and thought about trying to make a few TNs using material. Love this video. 😊 you are very thorough and am looking forward to watching others. Thank you for sharing!
@LollyPalooza

not necessarily, especially if we iron it on really well. One thing that can be done is to put Fray Check around the very edge, too

Do you use fray check on the edges to keep the fabric from coming unraveled at the edges?

I would talk to the people where you buy your fabric and say you want the ultra firm stabilizer, and if they don't have it, what do they recommend? I couldn't find it, either, but the employee found it up on the shelf.

Thankyou for producing a video where you are informative and get straight to the point it was so clear and I am excited to make one of these! Can I ask what the tool was called where you "cornered" the fabric? Many thanks :)
@LollyPalooza
@LollyPalooza 3 жыл бұрын
Sorry! It's called the Crop-a-dile corner rounder. It's a heavy duty corner rounder that crafters use, since it can cut through chipboard. amzn.to/324pdj8
