Facade Louver (scale) - Grasshopper Tutorial

In this grasshopper tutorial, I will model a facade louver system based on scaling. First I will divide the facade into louvers and then I will extract the lines and scale them based on the hight of the surface. an advanced tutorial on how to use a point attractor or an image attractor can also be found in the grasshopper course at:

hey any idea why the openings arent defined by graph mapper according to height? it changes the width of each strap from top to bottom, and doesnt consider the height at all :(

I realize the remap component has already been modified,no wonder I cannot find min and max in the newer version of remap

Thank you very wry much . Firtly I follow your example. You explain smartly. But when I finish the vedio. I get confused how can I use it the building . Secondly please there is no channels explain Rhino only simple example. Please can you do some parametric or organic buildinglike zaha hadid'stadium in Qatar without grasshopper. hiya, which option/tool would you recommend to cut holes in de facade? When I use a surface with holes in it allready it just makes the shape square again after using the domain2 option in grasshopper. Thanks!

That's because the surface UV curves will be used so the holes will not count! The only way is to go with Meshes which I fear it's a little more complicated

Grasshopper also works on Mac I guess! But maybe some of the features are different!

Question, if I don't want the point x/y/z to determine the line loft thickness, and I want a set of attractors to determine where the loft gets thinner, how would I do this? I'm not that great in grasshopper

use the "closest point" tool to find the distance between the center of the lines from your attractors and use that as the remapping source!

I've done just the way you showed it, but my result is inverted. Where the original surface "bumps" out, is where the contour surfaces gets thick. Where the surface is flat, the contours are thinner. Any idea to why? Something I missed twice going through the video? :/

Third times a charm apparently. I just remade the first surface in Rhino and used the same Grasshopper script. Suddenly it worked. I guess id had something to do with the surface being on the wrong side of the X-axis. I got negative/positive and had absolute component on when I shouldn't have. :)

Good point Philip! I guess the axis control the frames direction and that brings up the problem!

Hello. How come my list item doesn't have +1, +2, +3 in the output section?

Hello Zoom in on the component, a plus sign (+) will appear, click on that and you will have +1, +2, +3,... in the output section. You can add as many as you need.
