Missed the second half of the show? The latest on...Gen. Frank McKenzie, former commander of U.S. Central Command, tells "Face the Nation" that his "strategic" advice to Israel is that its response to Iran should be "narrow" and have a "definable beginning and a definable end", Samantha Vinograd, CBS News homeland security contributor and former Homeland Security official, tells "Face the Nation" that terrorist organizations have been "using the Israel-Hamas conflict to try to inspire supporters and operatives all around the world to act", and Kristalina Georgieva, International Monetary Fund director, tells "Face the Nation" that the economic impact of the Middle East instability so far has been "somewhat moderate," but "any impact as small as it might be is not desirable in an economy with high uncertainty and inflation still not being brought down to target."

Nuclear weapons have to have the appropriate storage and maintenance. They don’t just sit in a silo gathering dust. There are parts that need to be replaced from time to time. In addition you would need a targeting infrastructure so it doesn’t end up like looney toons where you just launch and it lands where ever. US nukes are constantly under maintenance to ensure if they are needed they don’t blow up in the tube from someone like dry rotted seals and such. In addition Russia and Iran may see eye to eye now but who knows in 20 years. Russia and the U.S. were brief “friends” after WW2. All it takes is a change in leadership and everything can change and you don’t want to arm them with something that could then be used against you.

It’s kind like: “why are the capital generating liberal states (like CA and NY) footing the bills for Iowa or Kentucky (states that have no intellectual, financial, or industrial drive to contribute back)-why can’t they pay for their own stuff?” I guess the answer lies somewhere in the understanding that our longevities are interrelated, we’re bonded by agreements and histories… at least for now.

People in Kentucky and Iowa pay taxes, their sons and daughters serve in our military, California and Kentucky have bled together on the battlefield during two world wars, California provides tech, Iowa provides food. It’s about dominionism via context of religion. Islam and Christianity both require converstion to receive equal legal status - Judaism stands Alone among these three systems. Also there is more than the religion. There is an ethno culture aspect that particularly Muslim people have been raised with deep prejudice and disinformation about Israel and Jewish people.
