FACE TO FACE with a DIAMONDBACK RATTLESNAKE! How to DEAL with VENOMOUS SNAKES

Consider this a rattlesnake PSA. Love em or hate em, if a scrawny guy like me can deal with them, you should be able to too. It's always smarter and more noble to live and let live instead of reaching for the shovel, especially when the majority of rattlesnake bites occur when the snake is under attack. Our wildlife is a treasure to be protected at all costs.

I find it interesting that this wasp is completely harmless to all other critters until it's time to reproduce. Lives it's life eating plant stuff but then it kills a tarantula n a horrible way for its young. What a dichotomy.

Awesome PSA on rattlesnakes man! What blows my mind is how misunderstood these guys are. The only deaths caused by these creatures is because of a human grabbing them with bare hands for religious purposes, or trying to kill the snake.

I’m from Tx and I actually agree that not all snakes have the temperament of striking just cause they want too. Just like any animal in this world you have docile and then you have some that have moodiness. I respect what you do. That being said I am terrified of rattlesnakes but seeing him back up gave me a lot of understanding that they usually are not just trying to get you. Most snake bites may happen because you step on them or get to close where they think I gotta protect myself. Now I won’t be looking for them and messing with them at all but they deserve respect just like any other animal. Ps your Afro is BA

Awesome video. Impressive specimen. Our Cane Breaks in SC were always more aggressive than that beauty. Also had to worry about the mix of Toxins they had . While relocating one from the front of my property to the wild back part , I wanted the neighborhood kids to see and experience one live as most are dead when seen. Darn thing threw it self up out of the bottom of a 55 gallon trash can at them, so that was the end of that lesson . Closed the lid and took him to safety while the kids ran away squealing in terror ! Lesson learned. Leave them alone .

My step dad found a timber rattle snake around are dogs water bowl outside, and my dog step right over it!, but instead of calling animal control (were a southern family) he took a heavy feeder walking stick and killed it with a strike to the head, I felt so bad I did get to keep the rattle and skin though but a bad experience snakes aren't out to get you it literally crawled between my dogs legs and didn't strike or rattle it wasn't even aggressive

The only snakes I usually see in my area are Southern Black Racers. I think one lives in my yard. Whenever I see it I salute, give him some space, and carry on. Snakes creep me out a bit but as long as I know the species It's okay.

I am surprised that these rattlesnakes do not do well more than a mile or so from their original catching spot. Is this still true even if released to a known rattlesnake habitat? The two seconds of research (not a great source otherwise I'd post it) that I did suggests that the problem MIGHT be with finding a den to survive the winter is difficult. If this is the case, then why does releasing them within a mile of their original catching location allow them to still thrive? I recognize you or anyone may not have the answers to this question, but you seem more knowledgeable than me.
