Never judge a creatures intelligence from the limited perspective of your own imagination...if you can expand the imagination of people, you open up new worlds for them to explore. It's an amazing gift and I thank you for it.

I remember my tortoise that I had when I was a kid. For almost 10 years it was my pall. She was always around us in the garden... it was my friend. I lost her when she went to soon in hibernation and we couldn't find her to get inside. She sleeps normally in the cellar. That year she was to soon and it was a hard winter and didn't survive. It stills makes me feel sad and I am 58 now... still misses that lively friend of my youth...

Hi Kenan I love it when you visit Sam. You both have a love, and passion for tortoise's. They are so beautiful, and intelligent. People do not give credit to how intelligent animals, and reptiles are. I worked at animal hospital. I took care of the cats, and dogs. I have seen them out smart people. So I know how smart they are. Jerry, and his mom Linda were happy to see giant tortoise's. They are getting another small aldabra for his mom. So her's will have a new buddy. I am glad that Sam is passing his knowledge to you, and the people, who help him take care of all of them. Kenan you have so many little baby tortoise's, so you need to keep one or two, and enjoy watching them grow up.🦎🐍🐢❤️Cindy

The tortoises and turtles I've been seeing on this channel DEFINITELY have unique personalities. They're not just instinct-driven grass-eating boxes, guys. The Galaps are funny. Very bizarre, too! Kenan has a couple of characters (demented Galaps) on his mini-ranch. I don't remember the name of the Galap that stares at Kenan but I think it's one of the males. That tort is amusing! *** I saw the most unique turtle on the Garden State Tortoise channel named "Otis." In fact, they introduce him in the video that was uploaded today on their channel. He's a new addition to that preserve's permanent residents. That turtle has a LOT of personality, almost dog-like in his behavior in the way he interacts with humans. He's not wired like other turtles. It's a good thing he's kept in captivity because unfortunately I think his curiosity could get him killed in the wild. Torts and turtles don't have much facial expression but there's definitely something going on in the eyes.

I love the videos about the giant tortoises. I've been telling people since 1994 about how Aldabra's love to be scratched and lotioned up. I used to have the privilege of caring for a younger female named Abby. I miss her a lot. I hope to have one again, one day. Thanks Kenan.

I just really want a Sulcata, they have always been my favorite. I just love the looks of them and be their personalities. I had one for about a year when I was about 7 and my mom lost her job and we hand to move and she gave my friend to a new home. He is probably big and loving life somewhere in Arizona.

It was such a lovely video!🐢💚 Around 8 years ago, I often brought my chameleon or gecko or lizard to my workplace. Looking their smiles, it was always awesome.

@@tf9870 Komodo dragons is a must a see animal species when going to INA, they'll be the first priority if I can visit INA and also the rhinos. SEA is home to many unique species but most of them just don't do well in captivity so seeing them in captivity is rare and the best way to see them is in their wild habitat (if you're lucky enough).
@tf9870
@tf9870 2 жыл бұрын
@@lumiere2713 yes sure man! Komodo and Rhinos are must!! Ive seen komodos in several zoos but Ive never visited the Komodo Island, the habitat itself! Im looking forward to visit the Island someday😁 Well, some of SEA species that you come across in you country (I assume you are not from SEA) will most likely be a wild caught individuals, so I think that's the major issue to keep them alive in captivity (+ there are probably special environmental requirement the species need that might be not suitable in certain country with certain climate), sadly our people do not appreciate our animals as people like Kenan (and you probably) do, people in SEA especially Indonesian, has very little concern to our flora and fauna here. Even Komodo Island is kinda threaten because of the construction and building in that area, Im kinda worried for native species since no one really cares for them. I hope I can do something someday to prevent any of them from extinction.😁
@lumiere2713
@lumiere2713 2 жыл бұрын
@@tf9870 I'm from the Philippines btw, and yes I agree. Most people (not just from INA or PHI but other the world) would think that wildlife are just play things for entertainment and display and also as nuisance, pests or a threat to their livestock or crops since humans tend to move closer to wildlife areas (esp forest) but they don't realize that wildlife are already present in this areas prior to their settlement. And since majority of animals and plants in SEA requires some special climatic condition and specialized diets that can't be replicated in a captive settings scientists and conservationists are having a hard time and must exert a ton of effort and resources in other to protect these species from threats especially from poaching, deforestation and habitat encroachment. And I'm also glad that several reptile tubers are able to tackle these issues on their channels especially that reptile keeping is slowly gaining popularity nowadays and they (youtubers) have the power to spread awareness and factual information not just about reptiles but the environment in general. And for us ordinary citizens the least we can do in helping environment is to be mindful about the impact of our daily activities on the ecosystem. This topic is getting deep man. 😂 Let's just do our part in helping the environment and help educate others in the best way we can. Hope we can visit our other SEA neighbors to gain more knowledge in insights from other culture and their environment. Stay safe btw.

When humans finally realize that evolution by natural selection does NOT put humans at the top of an evolutionary “ladder” but that evolution happens more like a tree, our egos will be where they should be. Humans are NOT the pinnacle of evolution. Evolution is an ongoing process and many animals have better eyesight, are stronger, faster, etc., than humans. Linda, I’m excited for you! I’m a 60 year old female and just got my first reptile, a Ball Python I named Darwin. Charles Darwin changed everything when he put together, by observation, evolution by natural selection.
