Today we welcome a new member of the Kamp thanks to Florida Iguana & Tortoise breeders. My good friend Sam has a beautiful Aldabra tortoise that will one day be large enough to pair up with Nostradamus and her name is Cersei! Sam also needs the Kamp Kenan Army's help, he has hundreds of iguanas that need new homes before they are destroyed by the state of Florida. I don’t understand why his iguanas aren’t being grandfathered in. So long as he isn’t producing anymore, he should be able to keep what he already has and work at rehoming all the young and keep the special ones for pets for himself. As a well-respected reptile professional, Florida Game and Wildlife should be able to give him a permit to keep these animals and it is sickening to see them treating him and his animals this way. I really hope he can place all his animals in time.

I am so sad for Sam it's heartbreaking for him to lose his entire collection in this way and all that work to vanish especially as he is such a responsible keeper and such great educator and amazing resource for other reptile keepers. Not to forget that this is the way he responsibly earns a living that supports him his family and employees.

Lovely beast! I remember the tortoise my mom adopted, “Fluffy” lived in the backyard at her house in Bakersfield California. Every morning Fluffy would scratch at back door demanding breakfast! Fluffy was a unable to live in the wild and my mom decided to give it a safe home. It was so cool to see that “rock” lumbering over to greet me whenever I came to visit!

Welcome home, Cersei🐢❤️ My heart is breaking for those gorgeous iguanas. If I didn’t live in Florida, I’d take 20 of them. I’m so sick of responsible owners/breeders being so negatively affected by FWC and so many stupid laws. Yet there are people mistreating animals all over the place that face no consequences. I hope all Sam’s lizards find excellent homes!!🦎❤️🦎

That’s awesome you got one from Sam I follow his channel as well. He’s a great guy and does great work with tortoises and iguanas but it’s sad he can’t breed iguanas anymore. It’s such nonsense that laws can ruin peoples passion and all the hard work and years of dedication with a law that isn’t going to help anything anyway it’s nonsense. Iguanas are already established their and stopping people from breeding them and ruining their businesses isn’t going to stop the iguanas in the wild from breeding. It’s just sad. Everyone needs to join and support #USARK so they don’t take away all of our reptiles because some uneducated politicians think it’s for the best. I’ll stop there because this just gets me so aggravated. 🙋‍♂️✌️

Sam i would love to get one from you.. Ill go fill out the thing then. Im im the upper peninsula of michigan i could def. House 1 always wanted one my dad had one when I was very very young.. When he passed my grandparents had to get rid of him. So i would like to start that over. What a amazing thing to do for kenan too.

Just noticed CONGRADULATIONS ON HITTING 700K seems like just a few weeks ago u were hitting 100k well a MILLION is just a turn of the corner 😉 U deserve it all I have learned more about turtles and tortoises from u then all the other's I have watched in the last 5 years. And the prices are going to make it hard. No money should be worth losing them and knowing they are going to be killed is sad. There is to many at every pet store for $50 dollars no they are not the all cross bread stuff but the value is only what someone would give and the average person would pay the less I hope they all get a beautiful home but slim chance at the prices he has listed

Good luck to Sam. Hopefully he can find homes for the iguanas. Problem with out of state sales is most pet stores out of state carry iguanas at a very low price..way less than the cost of shipping a iguana from Florida alone. Factoring in the cost of building a suitable enclosure…and if Sam wants money for them on top of it…will deter many potential people from rescuing Sams animals. I’ve had iguanas and would be willing to pay for shipping to rescue one of Sams…which would be more than buying one from a local pet store…but with enclosure costs and a fee on top of that…all I can do hope Sam finds buyers

Contacted a few Phoenix reptile shops. Raved about how highly respected your friend is, and the others said they’d definitely look into buying. I am sorry if you don’t get the “Kenan told me” credit, but I did let them know I heard it from here! Love what you do, and the people you surround yourself with! Good luck!

With some handling, routine and some respect, iguanas can be such wonderful pets for the right person. I have a wonderful adult male red iguana, and he is a calm guy who free roams my home pretty much like a house cat, with a humid tent for night. He like to hang out with me at the end of the night before bed. Just expect a lot of poop. It’s kind of like living with a goose.

I had a huge female and she would only go to the bathroom on the floor not carpet. Slept wherever she wanted too. Lost her a few years ago and still miss her

There will be so many people that now go and release their rock iguanas and tegus because they don’t try or can’t rehome them. So sad and will probably get worse. Good luck New tortoise is so sweet 🥰xx

Aw man I wish we were done moving already cause I'd totally take a couple of those iguanas. They are by far my favorite lizards and I miss the one I had before dearly. Hes was a big beautiful male red iguana that very much ran the house. He got outside somehow when he was about 5 yrs old and got attack by dogs, I was completely devastated and still have no idea how he got out. Its been 6 yrs and I still miss him😞. Thats actually him in my profile pic.

The new Aldabra is beautiful! You are not the only kid that played on the mountain of poop pile me and a couple of my friends did not realizing what it was! Sam you are a great man to give one to Kenan, I can't wait to watch her grow up! Sam I am sorry you have to get rid of some of your animals.

I have 4 of these guys, all from Sam, once moved and settled I might get a few more. Lol. Who knows. I currently live in TN but come fall I will be moving to my property in Florida. I’m super excited to be able to keep my group outside full time. I work hard to make sure I provide them everything they need while inside but I’ve always wanted them outside full time. Your new girl looks amazing!

Right?!! I was thinking to just get them across the border with someone he trusts and that should help! I mean even if the person rips you off, the animals are alive. See if someone will sell them on consignment buying the animals time and a temporary safe zone!

I feel sorry for the Florida breeders like Sam. It's not his fault irresponsible people bought the animal, and then decided to release it into the wilderness. I can't keep a pet iguana I don't have enough living space to keep it happy. I also live in a northern state, so I would have to have a lot of indoor space.
