I could listen to Paul all day. So full of good information. When a question is asked, you see the look in his eye asking, "do you really want me to go into detail?" He seems like he's only touching the basics of what he knows.

This video has been the MOST interesting, MOST educational, MOST repeatable viewing I have had the PLEASURE to watch. THERE MUST BE A GOD when faxon came out with the GUNNER profile, I could tell the value of their knowledge and engineering - I knew I could place my TRUST in their products... As of this video I have purchased four (different gas port lengths). ALL BLACK RIFLES MATTER

I appreciate all that information from Nathan. I just purchased a 20” flame fluted faxon barrel from Brownell’s. And I’m also going to be purchasing a 3 pin low profile gas block also. Idk why I didn’t get that when I completed my order with the barrel. I think it was because I was looking at all the other Magpol stuff I plan on putting on my rifle. So I got a little side tracked. At any rate thanks again Nathan from Faxon and Paul from Brownell’s. My BCM ar15 now has a 14.5 inch faxon gunner barrel in 223wylde with 5R rifling stainless nitride. And the difference in accuracy from the stock barrel is absolutely shocking . Best decision I made and it’s even gassed properly with perfect ejection with stock buffer from bcm . My factory barrel was gassed to the extreme

This question is directed toward Nathanial. About a year ago I purchased a 16" GUNNER, 5.56 NATO, Mid-Length, 4150 QPQ barrel, order number 17416. Over all I am very pleased with my purchase, However I do have one small problem, when a round chambers the bullet is scored by the back of the lock lugs as evident by small deposit of copper. I thought after time and use this issue would go away, it has not. I have tried many different types of ammo, and magazines with no luck. My question is should I polish this problem area as many people seem to cure this problem with some of the more economical barrels? If so do you have any recommended media, tools, or methods for best results with my particular Faxon barrel. Thanks in advance, Benjamin

I'm currently building an AR, and I am really interested in a Faxon 18" gunner. I was wondering if you guys thought that the adjustable gas block is necessary, or if the regular low profile gas block was good enough. I am planning to suppress it if the Hearing Protection Act passes, so the possibility of suppressing it is a big consideration for me.
@FaxonFirearmsOfficial7 жыл бұрын
If shooting suppressed, we like AGBs.

Question for Nathan. Does Faxon plan on creating a slim linear comp for pinned and welded 14.5 barrels. I'm not a fan of brakes as the concussion can be annoying to fellow range shooters(I find it annoying and I don't want to be THAT GUY). Also love these super informative Q&A's. Thanks
@FaxonFirearmsOfficial7 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, we cannot physically manufacture a linear comp in SLIM form. Not enough material to mill. There is a flash hider version!

I purchases a Faxon pencil barrel recently. Everything looks good except the crown. It looks and feels like it was crowned with a THREADING tool! I know what a good crown should look like. There should NOT be a burr on the edge of the crown. Fortunately, I'm a gunsmith and have my own 14-40 lathe and I know how to cut a nice crown. But I shouldn't have to. That said, Faxon isn't the only barrel I've seen that came from the factory with a crappy crown.

and is a bull barrel just a very thick barrel and does size of caliber change the size of a bull barrel by allot or a little ? can you take a used 223 barrel ,,like a bull barrel but worn out and can it be redrilled out as a 308 barrel ? can you do a titanium nitride barrel ,that gold looking nitride as they do drill bits with that stuff and it seems to be pretty hard wearing ?

Hello, Is there a difference in the molecular level of your gun barrels between a bolt action or a full auto barrel
@andrewlambert72462 жыл бұрын

Question for you guys. I built an AR with premium parts such as wilson combat match grade barrel and a lantac bolt carrier group. When it came to checking headspace, i did not close on the No Go gauge as it shouldn’t but when it came to the go gauge. The bolt doesn’t close either. O used another bolt by src and it still wont close on the go gauge. When i shot it do to an armorers advice stating that it didnt matter there was severe wear on both of my bolts lugs and the rifle would not cycle. it would shoot the round but not extract the round or load the next. I disassembled the gas system thinking that the gas block was not set right but after reinstalling it the same issue occurred. All this happened within 50 rounds

are buttons pulled or pushed ? and is cold hammer forged barrels drilled first then hammered ? and does the drill hole drill straight, like perfectly straight and if the barrel is not straight at the end of all the process it goes thru ,say rite at the finished product and you find it's not perfectly straight can it be straightened out ?
@jefferyboring4410 Жыл бұрын
Buttons are pulled. I assume hole is drilled first on hammer forgings. Ww1-2 barrels were hand straightened if bent after manufacturing. They did it by hand very fast just looking through and pulling on them just stuck in something to straighten it as needed. Barrels don’t have to be perfectly straight to be accurate. Some builders like a up bend some down depending

You can use the longest handguard you can find as long as it does not start to cover the compensator or flash hider. A 15 inch handguard seems to be more aesthetically pleasing but the decision is strictly up to you and would suggest to look through our selection of handguards on our website.
