James Bond. Men want to be him and women want to be with him. Who else wants to be with him? Sony - much to the disapproval of Daniel Craig himself.

I have both wireless and wired headphones. Wireless is great when you're out walking and don't want those wires catching on your clothes, but the wired ones are indispensable when the fucking battery invariably dies because I forgot to charge it before leaving the house. Oh, and as a bonus, my wired headphones don't intermittently switch between English and Chinese. "欢迎使用智能语音控制耳机。 连接。"

Until Bluetooth doesn't produce absolute shit tier sound Wired is king. Music is meant to be enjoyed not to be turned to mushy overly compressed and tinny trash at a hefty premium. The headphone jack costs like nothing literally cents in the production of a phone. There is absolutely no reason to remove it. Aesthetics? Please don't BS me all phone are black rectangles nowadays. Sound Quality? that's garbage bluetooth is still worse almost 20 years since it became common and it's not even close in terms of sound quality.

My favorite well-done product placement scene ever made: The Blues Brothers crashing through a JC Penny and rampaging through a mall in their car, chased by cops, destroying the place while commenting on the amazing products they see there. The crowning flourish is the deputy, spinning in his upside down car, lamenting "I broke my watch!" It took me YEARS to even realize this was a product placement sequence, and I still love that scene.

As someone who cleans a museum with very few outlets every day, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that wireless vacuuming is a godsend but the museum isn't the same as a house and even our vacums have interchangeable battery packs
@SaraWolffs
@SaraWolffs 4 жыл бұрын
Interchangeable battery packs sound like a huge deal there. Especially if you have an independent charging station, it just eliminates down-time, as well as making batteries a normal "consumable" as their health deteriorates, with replacements being a normal scheduled expense rather than an expensive repair.

I detest Sony because they made my life difficult when I worked in phone retail. By far the most returned phones due to warranty issues were Sonys, and because of the way the screen is constructed a tiny crack completely disables the touch screen. Then there were the numerous times when I'd have to explain to an irate customer that their supposedly waterproof phone couldn't be repaired because our Sony repair partner had found liquid damage, so the warranty was void. Sony used to offer tons of incentives to the staff to recommend their handsets over other brands but the majority of the staff I worked with wouldn't bother because they knew how unreliable they were.
@CasioMaker
@CasioMaker 4 жыл бұрын
I second that motion. I used to work for a competing brand at a local retail store and the guy manning the Sony corner at the cellphones aisle didn't gave two pieces of crap about his brand. He knew that their products are overhyped and full of flaws

@gaeroot
@gaeroot 3 жыл бұрын
@@koryhaggert2848 I must say that Sony phones are the odd ones out, I have a Z5 C I purchased on launch and its still almost as good as day one, even the 2-day battery life. It's been abused so badly, nearly all the paint has come off the edge (and I never used case or screen protection too) but it still runs perfect. But my first Sony phone (Xperia GO) experience was terrible - The screen completely shattered when the phone was sitting under the sun. I feel as though the design intention is absolutely spot on for the average user and that's why I stuck with Sony, but you can see the lack of phone manufacturing experience. It seems that you either get lucky with your piece or not.

Sony has done better than using 'sleek design' as the excuse for removing a feature. Years ago, they used a similar excuse to defend an actual design flaw, when people reported that the Square button on the early PSPs would get stuck because it was placed too close to the screen. (The excuse was not well received. Sony fixed the problem in future versions of the PSP.)

Sony TVs and displays. It's obnoxious.

There's this pair of earphones I love with all my soul (Panasonic ErgoFit). They are the most glorious, comfortable, bass boosted pair of budget earphones in the world, I've gone through some 10 pairs over the years. Problem is I can't find them anymore, only a freaking bluetooth version, and I'm fairly certain Panasonic intentionally stopped making them so people would gravitate towards the bluetooth version :(

I understand the reason for the removal of the headphone jack being that manufacturers are trying to make phones thinner and removing it saves quite a bit of space and I personally don't use the jack myself but I would like to always have the option to use it. There is also the fact that Bluetooth can not transmit the audio in as high quality as wired headphones.

i prefer wired connections over wireless for anything, because wireless is unreliable and slow compared to wired connections in addition to the requirement of charging them all the time and having them run out of batteries always at the worst possible times, it would have to become as good or better than a wired connection AND wireless power would have to reach an effective long range stage for me to even consider it and that's just not ever going to happen
@arcticowl1091
@arcticowl1091 3 жыл бұрын
The thing is, a faster wireless connection also comes with less range since the wavelength needs to be more condensed, which makes it more difficult to pass through objects. That's why 5ghz on your router has less range than 2.4ghz

I have great Phillips headphones which I got on sale one day just thinking "they look like they'll stay in my ears" and I haven't gone back for 5 years! They stay in my ears and the music quality is great. I stood on one, and you could just push it back into place. Dropped them in a puddle, had them in the wash once or twice and they kept going. They're also the ONLY pair of headphones that can work in my brother's busted ass phone. They're wicked I ain't leaving them behind for wireless junk.

I would've loved to see Bond take one swig of the beer, make a face of disgust, say " This beer tastes like shit" and throw it into the ground, breaking the bottle. It would be so out of character and it would be great.

We don't have Henrys in the US, but it looks like the same idea as a Shop-Vac, and those are definitely good vacuums. You can clean up a construction site with those. I'm not exaggerating, I've done it. You tear out a wall, and you've picked up all the big pieces, but everything is covered in dust and there's gravel-sized bits of drywall laying all over, and you can clean it up in a few minutes with one of those. You can clean the caked-on mud out of the floor of your car with one of them. And you just open it up and dump it into a trash can when you're done.

I also have always used Sony phones cus of the walkman section. The walkman phones also always came with better quality jacks and such so it genuinly sounded better. Nowdays there is still some good audio control software which helps it sound better in the xperias. I think they call it clear+ or something, but I've heard from a friend that they want to remove that as well because it doesn't work as well over BT... Probably because older BT devices don't have the bandwidth... Well I guess they have a solution to that as well... BUY OUR BT HEADPHONES!

the real reason for some is it gives space for battery but for most it is to sell bluetooth and save on production cost

On the topic of the phone. They could have used the phone but as a burner phone- his breaks in a gunfight or something so he walks into a store, buys it, calls up whoever and they’re like “who’s this” and he goes “it’s me, phone broke needed a replacement”

There's a great reason despite having a pixel 2 that I use my corded headphones and when I need to charge, swap over to a shitty pair of Bluetooth headphones for the short time it takes to charge.

Switched over to semi-wireless headphones (sennheiser momentum free) a bit less than a year ago because my wired headphones used to break every few months because of wear on the cable.
