We're taking a closer look at the FactionFab Ford F-150 and Ranger Front Leveling Kits and then showing you how to install one on a 2014 F-150.
Leveling kit options include a 1.5" and 2.0" for the 2009+ F-150 and a 2.5" for the 2019+ Ranger.
Note that 2021+ F-150 models require the 2.0" version (1.5" will not fit) due to a change in top hat stud length.

I wanna do it myself but I'm scared for some reason lol. I finally did my own spark plugs so more confidence is coming.

Hopefully our video helps you when you're ready! If you're new, one of the best tips is to always double check everything and use proper torque specs.

Would I still be able to haul or tow say around 200 300lbs in the back without it affecting performance?

God damn. This was a really good and quick breakdown but probably my favorite part is that you actually included torque specs. Working aircraft for 5 years really made me appreciate torque values. A lot of theae German torque arms go with güdentite but I feel safer knowing I went to spec. One question: during reinstall, why doesn't any add grease or anti seize to areas of flat metal that has to be rapped loose? Like the tie rod ends. Just wondering.🤔 Wouldn't this make it easier the next time? Just wondering. (not on the threads; on the metal to metal flat surfaces)

Thank you! We also recognize the value of torque specs. Even if you're not using a torque wrench every time, it's a really good reference once you have some experience. And we simply don't add grease or anti-seize as we prefer to follow OE assembly. That doesn't mean that you can't, but keep in mind that both of these DO affect torque spec recommendations and you should be able to do your own research to see how much they can be affected.

@@factionfab5834 thank you. Generally speaking, my understanding is that torque values are affected if you put anti-seize on the threads you are torquing. I'm referring to greasing the unthreaded portion of the shaft making metal-to-metal contact of two disparate parts. That way, once you've removed the nut, you don't have to worry about two different parts rust welding to each other. Like at 2:33. A little grease or what have you in the eyelet that the tie rod end goes into, not the threads themselves. Then you don't have to beat it to knock it loose. Just a thought. Anyway, thanks for responding. Btw, do these torque specs apply to a 2019 model?

You don’t need to apply pressure to the vacuum line for the actuator to be able to reinstall? I’ve seen some videos where they say you have to. Thanks and great video! Love the detail

We didn't need to with our install, however it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to ensure that everything gets lined up properly. Those actuators are definitely a common failure point when pulling the suspension, and pulling vacuum would make it easier. Alternatively, it's just a matter of being very careful to ensure that the splines are lined up when inserting the axle, which can require some patience.

This is all some very helpful knowledge having to socket sizes and torque specs before you even start the install but wouldn’t it be a lot easier to use spring compressors to shrink the spring so about all the other hardware doesn’t have to come off or loose and what about alignment? Shouldn’t the truck be realigned immediately after the install cause it has to throw it off some.. I’m getting ready to to do the install myself and I’ll let you know if it was any easier using spring compressors but it might not be and I understand that every body doesn’t have that kinda tools laying around but I bought mine off the internet for only 24 dollars. Thanks for the info 👍🏼

With most mechanic jobs, there are multiple ways and ours may or may not be the best. A spring compressor can absolutely make things easier if you have one handy. And we do always suggest an alignment following any suspension change. If you are interested in seeing more information on the install, we also have PDF form hosted on our website (updated today for additional information on 2021 models) www.factionfab.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/FFA1.10198-Install-Instructions.pdf

I have a 21’ F-150 Limited and I’m thinking about adding a leveling kit puck with the stock wheels. Does this effect any of the autonomous driving features such as lane keep etc?

We have tested them on a 2021 with the same features, there were no problems or calibration needed.

Hi, do you need to pull vacuum on the actuator prior to removal?
@factionfab5834
@factionfab5834 2 жыл бұрын
It can help! You will want to be mindful of both the vacuum line and the ABS wire while you're working to not stretch them too far as it can damage them. Both can be unbolted / removed to prevent this risk.

why is the strut rotated?
@factionfab5834
@factionfab5834 2 жыл бұрын
The strut is rotated because the top stud pattern is flipped 180 degrees. You can't have a stud extend out from the same location as the OEM stud, so by flipping it 180 you can maintain integrity of the hardware by simply rotating the strut.

So is the 2 inch actually level ?
@factionfab5834
@factionfab5834 2 жыл бұрын
Well there are variables that can affect final ride height such as model / trim, cargo, etc, but for most trucks the 2" is very close to level. We have some installed pics on our social media if you want to browse, or email us and I'll forward some of them straight to you!
